Entrance pupil for Nikkor lenses

In the panorama field, hardware is also part of the success. You can discuss here about it: camera, computer, pano head, anything

Entrance pupil for Nikkor lenses

by khoi » Sun Dec 28, 2008 6:12 pm

Hi,

I've just bought the new Nikon D700. I'm looking for the entrance pupil of the Nikkor AF-D 20mm f/2.8 lens (I used the D70 + 18-70mm lens kit before). Anyone can help me ?

Thanks,

Khôi.

Thank you Paul,
I know this wiki page but there's no data for the D700.
I found another table with data but don't know if the distance is from the lens flange or the screw mount or the film plane ...

just do some test shots, it is no big deal
this morning I had to find the NPP for my new 9mm lens and after 12 shots the NPP was set

I did one shot left, one center and one right. If you have cam-control-software with your cam do it via your pc.

I suggest to calibrate it yourself. http://www.kaidan.com/nodalpoint.html

Here are the data for the Nodal Ninja 3 panohead :

* D700 + AF 20mm f/2.8D : 6.35 cm
* D700 + AF 50mm f/1.4D : 6.35 cm (yes, same than 20mm)

If someone has better or more acute data ...

Hi Khôi

Pay attention that the Nodal Ninja NPP are given "for" and "only for" Nodal Nija ( some difference on the horizontal axis !)

The best is "do-it yourselve" with the following method :

The 'grid method' ...
