NEW: MK PanoHead


The new MK PanoHead is a fine mechanical precision and high-quality 360° panoramic tripod head on the world market.

Key features:

• Panoramic tripod head for the stitching of digital panoramas
• Suited to create cylindrical, spherical and cubic panoramas as well as Multi-Row
• 360° panoramic plate with pre adjustable scale and integrated circular bubble
• Mount the MK PanoHead bracket alternatively on the Manfrotto MA 300 N or a 360°
plate of your choice
• Motorize the MK PanoHead bracket with the [sup]MK PanoMachine[/sup] or ROUNDSHOT VR Drive (with
adapter)
• tilt up and down + / - 90° exactly in the nodal point (click-stops each 15°)
• THe MK PanoHead allows the use of heavy digital SLR cameras and medium format cameras

I must say i was pleased about the PanoMachine when i got in contact with Msr. DeLostec two Years ago. The price for the machine was about 650.-€ - which in my mind was an acceptable price for a just horizontal-driven an programmable head.

I hesitaded to order it anyway - and when i contacted Msr. DeLostec again he told me that the head now has to be ordered in Germany via MK.
I contacted MK and learned that the price was nearly doubled . . .

Well - in my mind THAT price is a bit high for a just horizontal driven device and i wondered how it could be doubled. MK told me they had done a lot of work to get more precision, a stronger gear and so on . .
It´s not so much less priced than the much smaller sized (Nadir shot) Seitz . . .

Well . . i mean: IF one needs a driven head - then it would have to be programmable and driven in both axes . . would it?

I´m absolutely convinced it´s a very good device! No question about that!

Hi,

What about a full automatic (horizontal, vertical) machine for pano at around 1000€ ?
A fully automatic machine able to take thousands pictures in short time, much more faster and precise of what you could do manually ?
As it's still a prototype, I will have only few examples before to start a better construction ;-)

Just to compare, the merlin head in full will provide such a solution for around 300, 350 € ( 250 € for the head + 50€ for the electronic part ).

without the tripod the orion is just 159.-

imho this is about the amount one has to pay for parts for a single axis turnbox like the MK device
