In the panorama field, hardware is also part of the success. You can discuss here about it: camera, computer, pano head, anything

Which Apple MacBook for APG & PTP

by eric_5dmk2 » Fri Nov 01, 2013 9:33 pm

Evening to all of you!

I'm about the change my old MacBook Pro (running with an Intel Core2Duo @ 2,4Ghz & 8Go of Ram) for a new Apple laptop.
For APG @ PTP, is the video card important?
The new MacBook Pro Retina 13 has a small video chip (Intel iris graphics), the Air an Intel HD 5000 & finally the MBPR15 a Intel Iris Pro graphics.
For picture, panorama & some video editing, will a MacBook Pro Retina 13 will do the job?
In a nutshell, which Apple laptop computer would you choose?
For Kolor softwares, is the GPU more important than the CPU?

I have the macbook pro retina 13", and the new small video chip from intel is quite good, I didn't have any lag with kolor product (APG, PTP 1.8 and 2 beta) as well as other photo software (lightroom, ps, nik software and sigma pro photo). It works much faster than the 2 old macbook pro 2.4ghz and 2.33ghz I own.
If somebody have the new mbpr with Nvidia chipset, maybe he can test ?
