Select starting HMD (version 2.5)

by Xander Berkenhagen » Mon Jun 29, 2015 9:15 pm

It would be good to have a selector in the tool on which HMD should start.
I'm working on a project now where people use one set of vr glasses.
It's good when it starts on the right HMD

I'll add it as a feature request.

But did you notice that once you choosed an HMD, this HMD will be choosed automatically next time you run a VR tour on same browser ?

Cool thanks!

Is it also possible to add new headsets to the request?

Hi Gérald, the problem is that it has no name yet... I imported this one from china directly...

So I would like to add them manualy if possible without editing the webvr.xml every tour..
Maybe ptp could have a personal db of hmd devices??? So we can program them customer specific..

Regards,

Xander

What about adding the Oculus Rift?

Oculus is already taken into account.

Here is a note from KRpano about its support in the 1.19prerelease :

For using the Oculus Rift DK1 or DK2 with krpano, it would be necessary to use a web browser that supports WebVR. WebVR itself is a new and still experimental browser API and not included in the normal browsers versions yet. There are special builds of Chrome and Firefox with WebVR support available here:
Chrome - Chromium WebVR Builds
Firefox - MozVR Downloads
For the best possible experience the Chromium WebVR version for Windows would be recommended. This version supports the Oculus Rift Direct-Mode with 75hz rendering, time-warp and low-persistence and this provides a performance and latency like native Oculus Rift applications.

True, but not on offline mode with panotour viewer.
