Jumpy video

by AustinT » Sat Dec 26, 2015 3:47 pm

Hi,
just FYI I have noticed 1.5 will play videos more smoothly than 1.6 I am playing a h264 4k 60fps.
1.6 has a video jump every couple of seconds playing the same video as played in 1.5

Hi

Yes I am using the Oculus with the VLC backend. It just has a little hiccup as it plays. The machine has a 980Ti and it plays really well with 1.5

Yes there is still a little drop frame with Oculus render, the issue should be fixed with the final release of Oculus SDK which should come soon.
You can try to use the hw decoding to minimize the drop frame and so the jumpy effect (in Menu > Video decoding > VLC > tick "use hardware decoding").
