yea in first view very interresting. seems like a silver sensor reused?
but the price?
no changeable battery?
10m waterresisstant without housing but with 2 mics?

well why not using the"long" available sjcam m10 mini?
http://www.sjcam.com/cameras/28-sjcam-m ... amera.html

1/5 of the price but I expect not 1/5 of the image quality....

Has anybody tried one of these with 360 video?
I'm wondering if a nice 360 underwater/snorkeling rig could be built with these (more than 6 needed of course because of water acting as lens )

Too good to be true - don´t you think? The price for GoPro comes for a reason!

Only a reality-check can prove it´s usability - numbers don´t really tell the whole picture. .

And IMO that reason is because they can get away with what I think are excessive prices, just like Apple.

The GoPro camera is a simple device technically - how can they possibly be 'worth' what they charge for them?

maybe it´s not as "simple" as you may think? The most important factor is the developing to this certain point where it is now! This takes a long time and includes a lot of effords and money, which reflects - NEEDS to reflect - in the price.

Look - when somebody books me as a photographer he also books my experiences and skills i gathered during a long period of professional working. So some might think "gosh - why does he ask THIS price" . . .

That´s not easy to understand i guess . . . but it has a good reason! The same way it is with many things - like the GoPro. See the variety of gadgets existing around it, the whole infrastructure.

Developing a device to this point being SO sucessfull isn´t "simple" at all!

so rather than debating the price, let's talk about the benefits of having a cube camera gopro or knockoff either. can fit them much closer to together, and hide them in tiny places. and it's cool that the gopro at least is waterproof

Did you take measures? I doubt you can fit them "much" closer together than GoPros, using the narrow sides for adding the cameras in the rig. Have a close look at the rigs!

But the relevant point - in my eyes - is that GoPro developed the "cheap" looking ingredients to a real surprising level of
image-quality! In terms of movie and in terms of still-imaging.

I mean the vital point left is: dynamics. Here´s the really weak point - and i definitely doubt GoPro´s competitors can do better in any way . . .

So i feel the price-difference doesn´t count too much - at least as long as you have certain demands on image-quality.
