'Touring' within a gigapixel pano

I understand that APT will soon be able to handle very large panos.

It would be great if APT also had the facility to enable the authoring of tours within a single pano - such as is offered by Kolor's Paris 26 gigapixel pano and the more recent Budapest 70 billion pixel pano:

I see this sort of thing as a first step towards the ability to author completely automated tours within a large pano.
