How about a AutoPano service with a stitching/render monster where you sell time on top notch hardware to do these hard to stitch/render 10-50 gigapixel images ?

Yep, a rendering farm seems very feasible solution, a "render cloud" even... That should stop all those inquiries from users trying to assemble a home supercomputer to gain some advantage against Smartblend

Its probably possible to resell a special setup with one of the online renderfarms for Max/Maya rendering.
