We added a kind of captcha system in registration process. Nevertheless, it seems that some are still going through.

I'm still surprised that so few spammers get through to this forum, it is amusing sometimes as some of the spammers have no idea where they have landed, whilst others are plainly targeted and appear to have been manually registered hence the AMAZING photographic deals...

A bigger problem is the inability to easily upgrade to punBB 1.3, which offers quite a bit needed features and features Alexandre worked to "patch" in the current version. Things like plugin architecture with image attachment plugins, captcha plugins, proper merge and split of topics, etc...
A more scary side of this situation is that several serious vulnerabilities have been discovered in the 1.2.x branch and I personally am quite grateful that a person of ill intentions have not yet stumbled upon our forums!

Perhaps the new forum should be based on Pun 1.3 or later, and the old forum should be locked but available as an archive.
It will be painful, but probably has to be done sometime.

We know that we need to improve the forum engine. PunBB was used since a long time and it's not that good enough now.
Our situation is complicated because we don't won't to loose anything here ( especially the pictures already posted in gallery ). So, Francis, our webmaster has already began to study how to write some routines to be able to export that to another forum engine.
It will take some time. Such migration cannot be done so easily.
