Autopano does not seem to recognise the Photomatix generated hdr images, any suggestions?

No need to feed .exr files into APP - better use tonemapping/compressing in Photomatix to generate tiff-files first and feed them into APP.
Do you NEED .exr or .hdr panos for IBL? Or what´s your intention?

Dave, I've got the same problem. Note that AutoPano Pro doesn't give any error message, it's just that nothing happens. Photomatix says it's not their problem, as the files are valid. However, HDR files from earlier versions of Photomatix work fine.
Using EXR is the workaround for now.
Klaus--if you want to use the Details Enhancer tone mapping method in Photomatix, you won't get a good stitch. This tone-mapper works locally--if it doesn't have the adjacent parts of the image to work with, it won't get the same results.

Photomatix says, OK, valid to what format / version ? Easy to say when they don't give more information. As you said, earlier Photomatix were OK, now no more valid. So Photomatix did change something, can they explain ?

I've asked. We'll see how they respond. I would think they must have changed *something*.
Photomatix's HDR files open in PhotoShop, though.

Can someone update such a .HDR file ?
( the best would be one that works and one that doesn't ).

I had uploaded them to Photomatix, but then deleted them... I'll try to regenerate this evening (in N. America) and upload to you.

Thanks Paul.

Photomatix said: "The difference between files in version 3.2 and 2.1 is with writing information into the header of the image." They then reiterated that the files are valid.
Like I said, I'll try to submit them to you tonight so you can see for yourself.

Files uploaded.

Thanks. Checking that issue today.

Ok. Let's be straight : the header is corrupted. In radiance format, the header is plain text. Or in this case, we have a plain text with null character in the middle ! Or null character means end of text ... I have to patch that.

Patch done. Corrupted HDR will be supported in next release.

Thanks! I've passed that info along to Photomatix as well. I use both Photomatix and APP regularly, and like them both. I just want to have seamless interaction between the two, as much as possible. I look forward to the next APP release to fix this! (Although EXR seems to work just fine as a workaround.)
