Re: Papywizard Import Filter

Hi Frédéric!

I tried to use a Merlin´s script to use in APG. Imported the script, imported the images - all fine.
But the editor produces a caleidoscope . . cool
A closer look to the group-window told showed as lens 20mm. I used a 20mm with the merlin, right. And the presets work fine and APP works fine when i set lens to 20mm/1,6crop - then APP shows me the correct 32mm in the group window.
Why do i get garbage and why does APG show me 20mm instead og 32mm?
Maybe it´s the script Papy writes or the way it´s interpreted in APG?
Setting the lens manually to 32mm the editor also shows garbage - so i guess it´s APG and not PW!?

Better i´ll stitch it on the Mac without scripting, i think . . cool
it would be so nice if APG would take the Papy script and place the images following the script to avoid problems with white walls and so on . . why doesn´t it work for me? Did you get it work on your machine? Andrew?

best, Klaus

Re: Papywizard Import Filter

Papywizard writes some informations in the xml data file, according to this specification:

http://www.autopano.net/wiki/action/vie … _data_file

As you can see, there is the (real) focal lens, as well as the camera coef. But APP don't use these informations, as they are written in the EXIF of each image. So, I think there is a problem there.

Is the focal OK when importing the pictures without the Papiwizard import filter?

Klaus,

No I've had no success with APG using the Papywizard import filter (and very little not using the import filter) with Alpha2. APG alpha 2 was screwing up even simple 360x180s shot using a 10.55 or 8mm FE that 1.4.2 has no problem with at all. So I gave up on it, because I found it impossible to determine (or even guess) just what was going wrong and why, and decided to wait for the next alpha/beta having reported some of the bugs I ran into.

BUT....Alexandre has reported that they've done a lot more work on the PW import filter since then, as well as on APPV2/APG as whole, so I have great faith that soon there will be something really good that delivers on the promises and really look froward to trying it.

Hi Frédéric!
The problem is: i have no Exifs - i use an old manual 20mm Nikon lens for spheres.
When i type in 20mm in 1.4.2 into the lens-setting it translates it correctly into 32mm.
And the stitches are nearly perfect.

Hi Andrew!
So i´m kind of relieved it´s not a special problem of mine . . cool

Re: Papywizard Import Filter

Oh, so I think it should be interesting if APP could fallback on informations stored in the Papywizard xml data file in such case...
