APP Image stacking test and results

Hi all,
I've been an enthusiastic user of APP for only a couple of weeks but I wanted to share some results of a test I just did.
After seeing this how to:
http://www.autopano.net/wiki/action/vie … ll_Sensors

I thought I would try it on some test shots I took with my Panasonic DMC-FX18.
I took 9 rapid succession JPG shots of a church tower.
I combined them in APP, rendered them as Linear 16 bit TIFF.
I also used my previous favorite image stacker program, PhotoAcute on the exact same 9 images, saved as 16 bit TIFF.
I then opened those two and one of the source images in Photoshop. I applied default Smart Sharpen settings to all and lined them up.
Here are the results (100% crop).
Hopefully you can see that the APP result is even better than PhotoAcute, also you can see that the sharpening exacerbated the noise in the original jpg image:

I am more impressed with this program every time I use it!
Cheers,
-John
