Use a car mount to mount your Nokia Tablet on the Merlin head?

I picked up a used Nokia CR-81 holder for my 770 on eBay for next to nothing. This one has been modified to allow it to be mounted to any Herbert Ritcher 4-prong mount.

The CR-81 is part of the Nokia navigation kit for the 770.

You can get a similar Nokia mounting kit for the N800.

There are third party mounting kits too.

It occurs to me that you could modify one of these 'cradles' to mount a Nokia Tablet directly on/to the Merlin head if you wished. It would be quite easy to add a simple sun shiled to the cradle too.

imho the smart fact is just that the steering unit is not connected to the panohead ...

so I see no advantage to glue it on a turning device ...

only if you do panos on a Nacktbadestrand, where people look angry if you could put it in your pocket ... :-)
