Hi -
Just wondering if it is possible to replace images in existing APP working files. I used to use a different pano tool which made that very easy, but cannot figure it out in APP. I often need to warp/correct single images, and I have a work around for that, but if I need to warp another copy of it (say a darker or lighter bracket) I don't know how to apply the *exact* same transformation to it. Is there a 'replace image' function that allows this?

Replacing images means a different thing to me than what you are talking about.
Just put all the images into APP. If you use 1.9, then it will show bracketed images if it can tell you shot bracketed. If you use 1.4.2 or earlier, APP will usually handle all images ok.
for 1.4.2, if you want to be exact, make sure the "extra" picture only links to the one it overlays, and has good links in a wide enough area so it will distort the same as the "main" picture.
If you bracketed all shots (this has been discussed to death) either use photomatix or similar to blend them before APP, or generate three layers, each at a different EV, and then blend them. Or output one layer as a PSB/PSD and allow the source images to be layered in it, and erase as needed.

Thanks for that, but maybe I should have been more clear though:
I don't want to use hdr's or blended images, bracketing was an example - but I often have various plates to composite together where there are subtle variations in content (say different poses for a person, or different lighting rigs on a car etc) but the overall image needs the same perspective corrections etc. I don't want to blend them in APP, I just need to replicate image transforms across a set of images so the images continue to match up for the majority of the parts. Does that make better sense?
So, given that, is there a way to just swap an image in an APP file and have the transforms applied the same way?

There is no tool to do it under APP. But project.pano files are text file with xml structure. First quit APP, you can edit a copy of .pano file under text editor and change the picture file name here:
<Image>
<FullFilename> srcdx/IMG_0001.tif </FullFilename>then load the modified .pano file in APP. Control points and transformation will not change.
If you used Color correction, you may have to color optimize again.
Of course, the replacing picture must match the position of the previous one. Even taken on tripod, images may be shifted by 1 or 2 pixels. You should check this.

If in a first step you place more source images than you need you can look at the different possible versions using the Layer Editor: when you unselect an image in the Layer Editor window this image is no more visible in the preview.
When you know the images you want in the final image you can delete the other ones using the same Layer Editor or, if you want to stitch different versions using the same project, you can place them in a special layer (you could name it "do_not_stich") and deselect this layer in the Render window.
