Hi,
I am looking hard at APP as I want to start creating 360 VR pano's (on the fence between PTGui and APP). In any event, I was wondering if in addition to APP, I will still need another application (like Pano2VR or similar) to create full 360 VR pano's, or is that only if I want to be able to play the 360 pano's in Flash rather than QT?
Any advice or recommendations on using APP for this specific application is most welcome. I will be shooting with a Canon 40D with a Sigma 8mm (3.5) curricular fisheye on a Nodal Ninja Rig, and editing on a MacPro with QTPro.
Many thanks,

As of now APP 1.4.2, yes you will need other virtual tour creating software, one of it is pano2Vr which can output flash/qtvr.
Upcomming version 2 of APP giga will have inbuilt facility of outputting flash tours.
As per the listed items you have all required gear for the 360 pano, so just shoot & let APP do the rest of it.

I back digipano's suggestion of Pano2VR - it is complements APP nicely and is very easy to get to grips with and works very well.
If you happen to be expert at handcoding XML then take a look at KRpano and Flash Panorama Player too.

Or wait next week for the announcement of our own system ![]()

Many thanks for the responses! That is outstanding news that APP will have an internal capability for flash output!
Just curious, it being a few months from release, If I pick up APP now then purchase an upgrade upon final release of Giga, is the price point the same as waiting for a stand alone release (because I don't think I can wait .... lol)?

Hi Proxy!
Get the CubicConverter - it´s a kind of Swiss Army Knife for VR on Mac. In addition with CubicConnector a perfect workingspace.
Completes APP in a very good way.

I had read through all of those threads, but I guess I am missing something. That chart says if you buy APP now for $161.41, you can upgrade to GIGA for $108.00 at some time in the future. So the total to get to GIGA is $269.41 (if you go the upgrade route), does that equate to more or less than the stand alone price for GIGA? Thats what would help a new purchaser like me to know so close to its potential release date:D

APP prices things in Euros, so $ may change daily, or rather, by the second. Quoting that page, "Autopano Giga will be priced 199 euros."
AFIK, APP is 99 euros now, and the upgrade to Giga will cost 79 euros, so you can get Giga for 178 euros (if you upgrade in the first two months of its release.)
The price in $ will depend on the exchange rate when you buy.
Note to Alexandre: How about saying "anyone who buys APP after February 22, 2008" instead of "bought a license more than one year before the release of Autopano Pro 2.0"? Schedule slips have been known to happen ![]()
