Vertical bands in Multiband and bad horizon in Smartblend. ???

I have been using APP for a year with great success.  But suddenly I am having a strange problem with this pano.  If I set it to use Multiband, I get very obnoxious seams between each image.  See here:

If I set it to Smartblend (default in 1.4.2) the bands disappear but the horizon is very poorly assembled.  See here:

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for any help.

Bo

I should also add that these were taking with a pano tripod so the horizon "should" be pretty straight.  All options in APP were at default.

Thanks

CXan you upload the images somewhere where we could download them to see what's going on?

Re: Vertical bands in Multiband and bad horizon in Smartblend. ???

Your multiband problem is a known one, those bands appear when you render a small pano, multiband is tweaked for large panos. In my experience multiband panos 4000px wide still have those bands, but 8000px dont, so try rendering it bigger. I hope that this bug can finally be fixed for 2.0.

Your smartblend horizon issue is not a bug, your control points are simply poor. Stitching water is always an issue. Delete existing CPs and try manually placing CP's on the water farthest away from you, just below the horizon. The closer, the worse. When done, hit Optimize. If its still funky, then manually align those shots using the Move tool.

Re: Vertical bands in Multiband and bad horizon in Smartblend. ???

Thank you DrSlony.

I did create manual control points and that did work.  I am glad to see that both of those issues are known problems.  Fortunately the manual option is available.

THank you both.
