Hello, I am interested in purchasing the software for the features it has, mainly because of the 360 degree feature. I plan on purchasing a 10-20mm sigma lens to go on my canon 30d.
I do not have a tripod or a pano head.
Is it possible to shoot handheld (no tripod) and stitch the series of photos together then, run it through the 360 degree feature?
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Alex

Yes it is possible, you can use the string method ( APP wiki > Tips and Tricks > What to do when you don't have a panohead ) for example, or google for the laser method, but using a pano head is the 'proper' way of doing it and will give you better results (less parallax errors).
A sturdy tripod and pano head combo can cost you as little as ~150EUR (220USD). If you do not have a good reason for not wanting to use one (e.g. long trip on foot, so you want to pack lightly) then I suggest you get it.

the link you gave says it's invalid. i'll try to do a search for string method.
could you give me examples of the pano and tripod head combo that's around 220 usd? most of the equipment i found was far more expensive than that maybe around $500 with tripod and pano. hopefully the equipment you are talking about is available for me here in the usa. thanks for your help

Sure, I assumed you were from the USA judging by the post time. I don't like names, I like things that get the job done well. Too often I see a big name behind a crap product, or a good product with an unknown name.
Any sturdy tripod will do, I use a Velbon Sherpa 200R as an example.
When choosing a panohead, make sure it can rotate around pitch and yaw so you can do 360° and 180° (well 180° minus footprint). The Panosaurus is the cheapest head I found, and it works just as well as some other quite expensive heads except it could use a modification to use a clip-on cradle for the camera. It costs about 75$ last time I checked, a guy called Greg from Missouri makes them. Nodal Ninjas are very popular but cost much more. Then there are really expensive heads for thousands of euro/$. I'd like to speak with someone who owns one or used one of those very expensive heads to find out what's so great about it, if anyone reading this has one/used one, then please reply or even better come to #app on irc.dal.net

IMO you would be better off spending more and getting the Nodal Ninja 3.

They use a fisheye lens - typically the Sigma 8mm f3.5 FE - hence need fewer shots (4 around) which can be taken more quickly which helps minimise the effects of movement and also post-process the image(s).

will it be possible to make a virtual tour with the autopano software and have it interactive? for instance, i have a virtual tour of a room and if you click on the door it will lead to another room and there will be a virtual tour there.
can i add music to the virtual tour with this software?
