Too late for April 1rst preview of Instant Pano Pro, but..

http://www.tabletkiosk.com/config/pc/vi … roduct=147

Put this $999, 2 lbs (900 grammes), 1.0 GHz, 512MB RAM, 40GB HDD, 800x480 pixels, 7" (18 cm) screen thingy in your backpak, uses WiFi between it and your camera and, using IPP (®: Instant Pano Pro), you will be able to..

..examine a confortable preview (zoom included) of your panos as soon as the transmission of the last photo is completed.

Alas, this is one among the Origami UMPC (ultra mobile PC) Microsoft is trying to launch. "Tablet PC" are something unknown in Europe though they are about 10 years old.

Why tablet PC always failed ?

- Imagine you are in sand desert, you want to write some few sentences and only have a pen, a sheet of paper and a 4" x 6" piece of car board (no chair, no table, no comfortable place to stay) How many sentences can you write?

- Keyboards are wonderful : how to use them is evident and they are unambiguous (no fuzzy limit between "1" and "7", "r" and "n", etc.)

That's a definitive good idea (I have something for that planned). I'm not alone on that project. Microsoft has been working on a similiar project too.

It would be strange this being possible for panos before it's availlable for ordinary shots. A 6" x 4" (10 cm x 14 cm) screen is what I want to display immediatly (and recall from disk, too) any photos I shoot (much more useful than those ridiculous camera LCD.)

The problem is the battery? (eo UMPC battery : 26w Lithium ION - 2200mAh - 2.5+ hours battery life - 4 hours with optional extended battery)
