Manually set control points

When taking panoramas of white rooms, I frequently find myself able to see a point like the corner of a powerpoint, the edge of a bed, or the corner of a room. Because these points are small, there is not enough information to extract SIFT details, and Autopano ignores my input when I tell it that two points are the same.

This has been an ongoing saga because it conflicts with the idea of using SIFT for everything. However I do not believe it is possible to use SIFT for everything, and it makes me want to hurl the computer through the window and go crashing down several stories to the hard cement when it ignores my input.

I believe it is a bug for the computer to ignore its Lord and Master, The Almighty User. When I tell it that two points are the same, the response should always be "Yes Sir, 3 control points, Sir!". My eyeballs are far more advanced than SIFT and I would like to stop loading up HugIn every time the wall is white!

Re: Manually set control points

I agree, we need the ability to set manual CPs.
