If you try to create a panorama where the dimensions are greater than 30,000 pixels, AutoPano will pop up a warning that says that Photoshop can't handle images that are greater than 30,000 pixels in any direction.
The problem is, the dialog box only has one button [OK]. If you click it, then AutoPano will start processing the image. It would be nice if there were a [CANCEL] button so that someone could go back and fix the dimensions of the image.

Photoshop can handle about 10 times more than 30000px. But JPG can´t. Use TIF.

Yes, I agree. I just ran a panorama that came out to 2GB in TIFF. But, Photoshop can't handle images that are more than 30,000 pixels in any given direction (which is an odd number, since you'd think it would be at least a signed short int which is 32768). The Jpeg spec (as I recall) can handle pictures that are 60,000 pixels in any given direction.
About TIFF, I just built a 360x180 panorama and used tiff and it gave me a GFL_ERROR_FILE_READ when I tried to load it into PanoTour. (It was 2.1GB in size btw.) It would be nice if there were support for the Big Tiff spec.....
The bigger point I was trying to make is the fact that AutoPano puts up a warning and then doesn't give you the chance to change your mind by pressing [CANCEL] so you can go back and adjust your settings. It is a bit like saying: "If you proceed, you will walk off a cliff" and then not providing any other option.

The KRO format will handle any size of file. KRO can be produced by APP/APG and used as input to Panotour.

My average size of equirectangulars is 35000 and 86000px. I always edit them in Photoshop.
Try .PSB . . .

That number is definitely NOT true. I already opened picture files sizing 100.000 by 30.000 pixel. Using .pdb file format. Yes, it is getting slow, very slow, when the pictures get bigger than allocatable ram, but it works.
There are some restrictions concerning .pdf *1) and .tiff *2) format.

Photoshop internal limits are 300K by 300K. Unfortunately, it doesn't affect all format in the same manner.
For jpeg, it is 30K. Tiff is complicated ( either 30K or 2GB on disk ). PNG 30K ( not sure about that one ), etc.
That's why we coded a warning in autopano when you render in jpeg. If you do PSD/PSB, we make an automatic switch when needed ( over 30K ).
