Hi,
Is it possible to build a virtual tour with Panotour Pro for both, online and stand alone CD usage?
If I would be needing third party plug-ins or software for the latter could you please let me know which.
If anyone has done this suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks, I would greatly appreciate any help with this, my client wants the same virtual tour to be burned on Cd´s for distribution among potential clients.
cheers!

Yes.

No, they could just use any modern browser to view the tour on CD. All recent systems (desktop and laptp that can access a C; but not tablets or iDevices but then they don't have CD drive) will have Flash installed by default as far as I know.
The simplest way is to choose the embed all option and Desktop option (ie. Flash) with one of the HTML template options when buolding the rour for CD delivery. Build the tour into a new folder/dircetory and then burn the contents of that directory to the CD.
On the CD label instruct users to open the HTML file on the CD to view the tour.
Would that be good enough.
If not how would you like it to 'work'?

Hi, Mediavets,
Ok. Gotcha.
I was thinking on creating a CD menu with Adobe Encore and have a "click here to start tour" button to have user launch it. So I guess by what you´re saying this is possible.
In that case the "restricted web domains funcionality" wont cause any hindrance? It will run locally no problem?
Many thanks again for your help!

There may be problems depending on the features you choose to incorporate in the tour.
See: http://krpano.com/docu/localusage/#top
If you include features that require the external interface of the Flash player to be enabled (it's disabled by default) the person who wished to view the tour would have edit the Flash security settings.
That's really not acceptable if your client wishes to simpkly offera CD to clients for local viewing.
So either:
1. Forget the distribution of the tour on CD for local playback. Why does our client wish to do this anyway - surely all the folk to whom he/she wishes to distribute a CD will have Internet access and can view online?
2. Make a version of the tour for CD that avoids all features that require the external interface of the Flash player to be enabled - that includes Bing maps.

Hi,
Reason they want offline CD tour is that many of those folks will be watching the tour in places with limited accesability or restricted/limited internet urls usage in the company unless IT guys get signatures approval to unblock a website access for X company person or persons, which is pain in the butt.
Do you know where can I find a list of the features that will need to be avoided on CD version? (besides Bing maps)

Ah... the dead hand of corporate IT. If those guys finally get their way people will be back with dumb terminals connected to a mainframe.![]()

My experiment showed that links to web sites won't work.
What other features might you wish to use?

yep, you´re right. Last week I had an appointment in a company and wanted to show my online porfolio, had to wait for an hour until IT gota green light and unblocked my website´s url for a days worth permit.
Ok. Got it. I wont be using links to websites, and in the CD version I could use an aerial image instead of online map. The rest is video, still images, text and 180, 360´s.
Many thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

I distributed mine on a DVD disc but cheap flash drives are better - they are faster and easy to use (if you want to change anything after the CD is burned- it is impossible ).
URL won't work as well as all Javascripts.
Download free "sa_flashplayer_9_debug.exe" player then create a "data" folder and put all the tour files and the player into this folder. In the root of the CD or flash create a "start.bat" file, open it in the notepad and write the following in file structure
data/sa_flashplayer_9_debug.exe data/tour.swf
(this is in case your file is called tour.swf)
You will have a goold user-friendly CD with one file that will start the tour in the same good and fast player on all computers.
Buuuuuuuutttt......I doubt that this variant will work on iOS. (tested on windows computers only)

Your are right, it won't. It only works with Windows as an exe standalone debugger player , neither will the start.bat.. but there is a Mac version..
