Video player and maps

Hello,

I have 2 problems:
1) I'm trying to build a tour that:
Starts by playing a full screen video...stops and hide when it ends and shows an underneath pano...(end of video frame= pano image, so no transition needed).
When you then select a hotspot on that pano, again another video plays full screen, stops and hide when it ends, and shows an underneath pano.
It doesn't seems very easy to do that although pretty simple action.

I've read that you can customize XML files, but in my project, i can't see any?

The client whan't to add content later on themself so i don't like to edit to much external.

Another problem:
My Panotour maps (openstreetmap) doesn't show the map, altough my hotspots on the map are visible and usable,
also the zoom controls etc are there. But the map itself is blank. I zoomed in and out but still the same. Also when i use my bing maps key it's blank. Tried on every browser.

Any solutions?

thx!

a. dont use demo mode panotour. only a registered version allows to not embed all content
b. if using a registered panotour pro 1.8:  project properties window: project properties register -> Tour build register: disable option Embed all data and embed XML files options.
c. recreate the tour to a new directory...

The client whan't to add content later on themself so i don't like to edit to much external.

that will not work with panotour 1.8 and I doubt it does work if tour is created with krpano tools - here the update vtour tool dont believe this can be given to customer...

is OSM available for the region you wanna use it? (is it visible at www.openstreetmap.org)
and do you have the problem when tour is offline at your computer after creating tour or is it online on your server (link to see it would be great)

Thanks Georg,

I don't use the demo mode. Embed all content is disabled, also use existing xml is disabled (tried it enabled also). Rebuilded it, still no XML files.

They will buy a Panotour pro license...then they can adjust the project no?

Yes Belgium is available on openstreetmaps or bing.
I tested it offline (with internet enabled), blank...

See screenshot below for simplest way to locate the XML files created when you build a tour.

The client want to add content later on themself so i don't like to edit to much external.

There's no way to achieve what you want from the PTP GUI so you'd have to handcode most of it - and I'm not sure it is even feasible with handcoding - it seems unlikely that the client will have the knowledge and skills to modify the XML to update the tour.

Given all the problems and challenges associated with this project (not least a client who wishes to do his/her own updting), if it was me I'd not take it on at all.

if they buy a panotour license they can create the tour themselves and dont need you.
If you create a tour and upload this created tour to the customers webserver, then they cant edit the tour in panotour. You also cant do it using these files.
You need to save a panotour project file and :

if you give your customer the source images and the panotour project file than they can edit the tour and recreate ...

about xmls. did you use any html template? if not try it...

yes i'll give them my resource files and project. They just need to further expand the app. Offcourse if these files are in another location you have to relink the files probably one by one.
Why i say this is because i've created for them some kind of demo project. They can later on expand information (pictures, video's,...) that they have collected without to ask me every time to add someting.

I'll check later this day if i can export the XML's.

Question: is it actually possible to transfer my serial/activation to them? Cause i probaby won't need it any more (maybe later buy 2.0 version)?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Video player and maps

I too am very much interested in OP's ad1) video intro & video transition.  I would appreciate any thoughts regard what the XML script would look like.   I am comfortable in tweaking code like customizing hotspots, adding new menu buttons/features.... but not crafty enough to solve this off the top of my head.  Thank you for your consideration!
