stich error | distortion

After tweaking my gear time after time I could not figure out why I got these errors.
Settings are at best, sferisch and maximum projection range.

At last I've tried a trial version from PTGui to exclude the possibilty that it had something to do with the software.
I was very surprised that PTGui created the panorama without any error.

I use a canon 550D, sigma 8mm 3.5, Nodal Ninja R1 at 7,5 tilt.

Re: stich error | distortion

I assume your screenshot is from panotour 1.8 pro.
it shows the 3D Editor Window.
More interesting would be the project properties->Projection->Input Filed of View values for both testpanos you show in your screenshot. the result shown in your screenshot can be a result of using a non 360"x180" image and using full spherical projection with a non 360x180 image... so lets say its 176 instead than it could be looking like yours...

Re: stich error | distortion

Thanks Georg for your response.
The image I use is 360x180, I made it with autopanogiga and settings "max projection Range". The Width is twice the height. So I don't think this is the problem.
I've stitched a few other images to show the difference.
As you can see, there are also serious stitching errors in the autopano version from both examples.
I know now the original pictures aren't causing the problem.

Re: stich error | distortion

Some lens need to have more control points to well correct distortion.
So, open the editor and the control points editor for adding points on picture borders (where distortions are very strong).

You can also send your pictures on our ftp for adding it in our tests cases :
