Color Correction (CC): Big improvements but still a few problems
Testing CC in 3.0 A1, unfortunately same errors like in V2.5.x and V2.6.x
But after testing 3.0 A2 it's now clear why: The improvements will be first applied in A2 !
It looks like Kolor has found a good solution to deal with irregular overlap zones.
With one reference image, absolutely no blending errors can be seen, even if the overlapping is only 2% (!) or 60 pixels.
Blending is perfect! This is a big improvement over the old versions !
But ... there still are a few problems that worsen the result or can make the render useless:
With no or only one reference image (RI), there occurs a shift from Dark to Light from left side to the right side of the pano.
When enable also "color-tone", there is an additional Green-Red color shift from left side to the right side of the pano.
(See images 0000 - 0003 below)
It's clear: For big panos it requires more than one RI.
But with two or more RI's, there occur more problems.
With two RI's, blending isn't as perfect as with one RI (0008).
Now, some blending errors are slightly visible when overlap zone is small (0006).
There is also that Green-Red color shift from left to right (0005).
And when relocating the two RI's to an other position, there are sometimes more blending errors and the result is useless (0007).
The more RI's the more problems. With four RI's there are more visible blending errors (0009-0012).
The Dark-Light shift goes away but there is still this Green-Red shift visible when "color-tone" is enabled (0010).
The lower RI's shows hard blending errors and aren't well balanced and adjusted.
But the CC is on the right way! I'm sure, most of this is fine tuning and Kolor can even solve these problems.
I look forward to 3.0 Beta 1 ![]()

I agree with you Martin.
We won't be able to do anything more for v3.0 final, but our top priority for v3.1 is to revamp totally the color correction: new color theory with some new features and vignetting integration.
let's open an issue 1466 for v3.1 so we have this sample as reference for new technology.

Hi Alexandre
I agree. Already the solution of the problem with the irregular overlapping zones
and the automatic correction of slight vignetting really enjoy and makes you want more!
I have tested the CC also with this set but individually optimized images,
resulting in a totally chaotic set of images, but the CC and blending is surprisingly good!
If kolor need this sample for tests again , I'll upload it to the FTP.
