with hotspots its on same window or new window openeing as set in settings but not in a defined window area inside the pano.
For this you have to use the rectangle point and than choose the Display opject settings. but here its not possible to include a video via http link, you need access on local harddisc to the video file.
maybe the ptp 2.0 is bringing new features here (@ photokina in around 1 month ptp 2.0 should be testable...)

what about the html feature, is it not possible to add html code which would show a youtube video?

Why not download the Youtube video (try using Firefox and an add on called Download Helper).
This way you can have the video displayed in the way that you want.
(Obviously abiding by all copyright issues! - cough cough)

Hi.. YouTube vids have unique url's, ie.. http://youtu.be/H5s8j3NpWHY.... which are triggered within a html page, but if you try to use a remote url you will probably get a security warning.... therefore you cannot use a remote url like this anyway... , however you could use a local url...
It is posible to put YouTube into a pano but its not a quick thing.. and you will need a player.. You can use a swf player or a javascript player so it works in an iPad, iDevice, PC and Mac.... They will not work in a Rectangle or a Polygon...
The easiest way is to put a hotspot on your pano to trigger a remote url to the YouTube page... and set it to _self... or you can create a new html file and put the YouTube vid in a table with other content where your url goes to.. with a return url... which is easy to do...
To achieve this requires a lot of work and coding... http://www.destinyvirtualtours.com/TEST … index.html
