Depends on how the photos were made. But give it a try yourself, see what happens if you make 900 photos and try to stitch them 300 at a time.

Lets say they were taken in a regulard grid. And the Field of View is nearly 360° (but not stiched at the ends, so it isn't a 360° panorama) and vertically nearly 40°

How do you mean: stich them 300 at a time?
Should I load the first 300 Pictures into Autopano and then render it. Then load the next 300 and so on?
or
Should I load everything into Autopano. An then open the Editor and cut the preview in such a way that it has to render just about 300pictures?

hmmm, a grid sounds logical. Row by row or column by column. And how many rows and columns?
If 300 is the number of photos on a certain number of rows, yes then go ahead, stich 300 photos then the next 300.
If for example you did 200 columns and 100 rows it sounds logical to do 200 photos in each group. Or 400 or 600.
Load all in one group and then start splitting them into groups.
See what that brings you...
You problably can stitch the results together because there is no overlap. So when working with groups of example 200, you now also need to stitch photo 100 to 300, so it can overlap on 0-200 and 201-400

350 rows and 25 columns. Column by column.
Lets say I would load everything into Autopano. Then open the editor-viewer and cut the panorama in such a way that it would just render the first third of the whole panorama.
Then doing the same for the second third and the third third.
Then I would have 3 .kro Files. How would I be able to join them?

oke so we have 350 columns to process, column 1,2,3,4,5.....25
Try the following
group 1 = column 1,2,3 & 4
group 2 = column 4,5,6,7
group 3 = column 7,8,9,10
group 4 10,.......
group 5 13
group 6 14
7 17
8 20
9 23, 24 ,25
resulting groups have 25 % overlap so problably stich

Hi Miguel
Excuse me if I am interfering.
But I think you can't here retrieve all the experience you need, when you want render a more than 100 Gigapixel Pano yourself.
You should get these experiences step by step do it yourself. Eg. begin with a 5-10 Gigapixel panorama (several hundreds of images).
Then double the number of pixels or pictures and see what happens and which problems arise for you.
This way it feels right! Otherwise you should leave this record attempt to people that have the necessary know-how.
No athlete starts with the final at the Olympic Games!

running 100m in 9.5 is rather simple, just break it down into parts of 10 meters.
Run the first 10 m in 1,6 seconds,
the second 10 m in 1.4 seconds
the third 10 m in 1.seconds
the fourth 10 m in 0.8 second
the fifth 10 m in 0.8 second
the sixth 10 m in 0.8 second
the seventh 10 m in 0.8 second
the eigth 10 m in 0.8 second
the nineth 10 m in 0.8 second
the tenth 10 m in 0.8 second
