Hi,
I would like to see an option for navigation mode.
Google Streetview set a "standard" with click and drag navigation
and Panotour only supports the old QTVR style navigation.
Personally I prefer the latter but novice users don't understand it.
In KR Panotools there is the option to change navigation via a "hand" icon
but I don't see it in panotour.
Can this option be build in?
We should be able to choose which navigation mode the tour starts in
and users can change it with that button to their own preference.
Thanks,
Hans Klop

Ed,
The structure of PTP templates and of the PTP XML output is not the same as that for the krpanotools and Make VTour droplets.

LOL
That's why we have and like a graphic interface, do we?
Sure, we can do all with kr pano and xml, and if it's your hobby, no problem, go ahead.
Don't even bother to buy panotour pro.
But I'm the lazy type you know, so I just ask for a nice upgrade :-)

I would have thought they would be at least comparable......they must be since they use the same syntax....maybe a little different but not that much.....
That would seem 'sensible' I agree.
But in fact they are very different. And PTP V2.x will be different from PTP 1.x too.

yes and no...
in ptp v 1.x all xml code you can place in a ptp template will be found in the "menu" block of the final xml code created.
so all krpano statements you can place outside the "menu" block you cant place currently inside the ptp templates...
example: using the include statement to break the code to different xml files and make your ptp template not a 1800 lines marathon will fail...
all krpano statements can be applied to the xml code created by ptp without restrictions, only with backdraw you cant rebuild the tour by ptp without loosing your handcrafted code...
and ptp 2.x is now announced to become official GUI frontend for krpano. That finally gives me hope that both worlds come together more closer ;-)

Ed,
PTP generated tour code does not use Scene tags, it creates a separate XML file for each pano scene within the tour; just one of the major differences between tour code generated by PTP and by krpanotools Make Vtour droplets.
As I recall Autopano Tour (the predecessor of PT/PTP) was developed before KlausR invented the Scene tag.

Hello,
Panotour 2.0 will contain options to set the navigation mode the way you like at start, and you will be able to add a button to change the navigation mode.
Meanwhile, you can create such button and add it in a PTP template.
The tutorial we wrote about PTP templates contains such button.
