I was not there ;-) I did not shoot the pano ;-)
just found in the media:
in fullsize:
http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/6656 … 2_full.jpg
(source of the screenshot attached is above link just resized to 2500 width... and reduzed quality)
infos:
http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/mer/m … 15689.html
full resolution:
http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA15689
I expect the pano was not done with autopano - because of bad stitching result ;-)
It would be really a challenge to get the source images to try it better with autopano
Georg
PS: makes fun to feed the fullsize tiff to panotour and create a 360x120 tour ;-))))

Emm... in 20 years this will probably be a mining operation.. They discovered heaps of Helium-3 on Mars, heaps on the moon too on the upper layers but Mars has other ore too.. Apparently one bucket of Helium-3 could power a city for a year... Its like uranium but without the radiation.. So therefore clean safe and very efficient... The only prob, is getting it.... So, perhaps this is why NASA spend heaps of $$ to check it out... I guess I watch too many science programs on the ABC science channel...
Apparently they will use a reactor onboard the space ship powered by H-3.. Makes sense...

and because NASA images are pretty much public domain, it means we can do soemthing like making it immersive to improve the experience... http://lifeinmegapixels.com/blog/2012/07/mars-360/
