hI Newbie is a little lost

HI I've created a PTP tour and now it has been passed onto my client. I've produced both a pc and a Ipad version but now the client has come back to me asking for the HTML version? i was hoping that that this was already supplied? I'm a little confused and really busy with a million other photograpy projects so could anyone please help speed up my investigation? many thanks

Did you produce two separate versions?

Did you know that you can select both and produce one version that will be viewable on both Flash-enabled platforms and iDevices if you select the generneric HTML template.  The HTML file this creates as part of the output invokes a script that determines whether to load the Flash version or the iDevice-compatible version depending on the user-agent of the browser being used to view the tour.

but now the client has come back to me asking for the HTML version? i was hoping that that this was already supplied? I'm a little confused and really busy with a million other photograpy projects so could anyone please help speed up my investigation? many thanks

Perhaps the client doesn't know what he/she is talking about?

When the client talks of an 'HTML version' I assume he/she means a mobile/iDevice-compatible version as that uses javascript/HTML via the krpano javascript/HTML viewer to 'visualise' the tour.

Re: hI Newbie is a little lost

I always send my client code like the below. Would that be html enough for your client?
It nicely integrates in any CMS. I tell them they can adapt the 1024 and 800 like they want.

Voor fullscreenversie klik <a href="http://alsofjeerbent.nl/panoramas/noorderzon/index.html">hier</a><br />
<iframe src="http://alsofjeerbent.nl/panoramas/noorderzon/index.html" name="frame1" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" align="center" height = "1024px" width = "800px">
</iframe>

Re: hI Newbie is a little lost

Thanks - yes i produced two tours - the HTML tour when opened stilll asks for Flash player, i basically want this one to open on an i device so flash isnt used. My flash tour involves a Google mag and hotspots which i am aware may be disabled, that's fine but it is stilll trying to use flash?

Do you have this tour online somewhere - I want to see if I can figure out why it might ask for the Flash player.

You must view the tour via the HTML file.

Which OS and browser are you using when you say it asks for the Flash player?

Have you tried creating a single tour for both desktop Flash and mobile-compatible viewing.

Re: hI Newbie is a little lost

Hi Mediavets - I dont have it online, I'm still figuring that out too (again, little time for some basics). Im using os X 10.6.8 on safari, not to sure what the client is using though. I'll try a single tour.

OSX supports Flash so unless you change the browser user-agent it will attempt to load a Flash version of the tour.

You can change the Safari user-agent via the Develop menu:

THanks Mediavets, any idea why I'm getting the black screen as described in previous message?

Do you get a black screen if you view the mobile-compatible tour with the Safari user agent set to any of the iDevice options?

.........

I suggest you create a tour selection both desktop and iDevice options with the Generic HTML template - see screenshot - then view that via the HTML file with Safari, switching between different user agents.

You should see that the javascript/HTML (iDevice-compatible) version is loaded when the user agent is set to any of the iDevice options.

.........

And that is 'the whole point' - with PTP you should need only to build one tour for viewing via both Flash-enabled platforms and iDevices.

Re: hI Newbie is a little lost

Thanks for your help on this, sorry for the absence had to go to work - Now i can see via the different agents. So is this a true representation of what I'll see, for example if i choose the Iphone agent it will disable the googlemaps, but hotspots are still working even with a picture pop up also the map is working too. If this is true then great!
