Compatibility panotour and panotour pro

Hi,

I make all my tours with panotour pro, even small ones.

I can imagine a customer would like to be able to make changes himself to the tour.
For that the customer will need a license of panotour (pro).

Will a project that is saved extend from panotour pro be fully readable/changeable/compatible when openen in panotour (not pro)?

Re: Compatibility panotour and panotour pro

Hi,

If your customer opens with Panotour a project written with Panotour pro, he will not see some features.
More, if he saves this project he will loose the features he did not see.

So no, a project created with Panotour Pro will not be changeable with Panotour.

Gérald

Re: Compatibility panotour and panotour pro

Hi Gerald,
So projects were the customer want to do the maintenance should be buik in the normal panotour.

Is there any list of features I will lose that way. I have read some things about the size of projects, but not yet found a clear list of differences.

Hans Keesom

Some differences between Panotour Pro (PTP) and Panotour (PT) but probably not a complete list:

1. PTP can handle larger images - I forget what the max. image size is for PT I guess Kolor can confirm.

2. PTP has support for custom themes - PT does not.

3. You can externalise and edit the XML with PTP - with PT you cannot.

4. PTP offers iDevice compatible tour export - PT does not.

5. PTP supports audio and video in tours - PT does not.

...........

Do you have clients who say they wish to undertake DIY maintenance of tours or is this mere speculation on your part?

What sort of tours do you envisage as requiring frequent updating/maintenance?

Re: Compatibility panotour and panotour pro

Hi Andrew,

Not yet regarding the tours. But I find the making of the tour something that is hard to specify beforehand. Once people start seeing what is possible they want more and more. Also, it is not that difficult work to do once you have a basic understanding. Thirdly, I can see customer wanting to keep open the possibility to make future changes even if it has a price.
I can see a future for making a basic tour and then moving it to the customer.

Not see yet tours that need frequent updates

regards,

Hans
