Anyway. Trying here to work out if my efforts have paid off :-)
I think there was a way to see within the program (APG) How long it took to make a pano, but where do I see this information?

I suggest to do some tests and stop the time using an external clock.
As i told some times before: a spherical 10000x5000px (that´s 66% the original data size of what the 5D2 produces using a fisheye) rendering as TIFF takes about 2,30min on my machine. That´s measured by using an external clock.
best and happy new year, Klaus

Thanks Klaus, how many images is that with the 5D2, I might go shoot some with my partner's camera and see. I guess for testing purpose we need some sort of standard. It isn't about who's computer is fastest, but what makes the process faster, so that when others upgrade next and all things being equal, they can benefit from it.
Thanks Klaus and Andrew

Hey Henrik!
i usually shoot 6+2 for spheres. When using bracketing i process the imags first in Photomatix and stitch/render them then.
That works very fast and i have worked out some routines in Phtx - though of course every series is different and is handeled different.
best, Klaus
