Does someone know a good online/offline service, where my panos can be printed on painting canvas?
(no oversizes, just normal 4:3 format like 80cmx60cm...)

Georg

When I was working there, Salon-Iris.com was good. Maybe they are still good. In any case, we have many originals facsimile.
Probably too expensive for regular images.
We have used Epson printers for the facsimile they have a native resolution of 720 dpi.
Canon and HP have only 300 dpi.
Otherwise, Epson is also best.
Only when it comes to very high light resistance. Outdoor use, window display, or more than 100 years of durability goes I would recommend HP z prints. Or printer with UV curing inks.
Because everything changes so quickly look best on http://www.wilhelm-research.com/
Also important is the canvas is printed on. If you want to sell your pictures as art they should be as durable. Therefore, Canvas, 100% cotton is best and without optical brighteners.
We used fineart paper from http://www.hahnemuehle.com
It is important you use color management and the printing company. ICC is the standart. Your monitor and or homeprinter should be profiled ICC compliant. A three-section color meter is mostly due to inaccurate for a TFT screen because of the fluorescent tubes . You should calibrate your monitor with a spectral photometer with that alone is still too imprecise, normally. The best is still in advance to have to have a small color proofing, from the print shop you will print.
You can then also see whether the used canvas has a good black point.
We have always varnished the canvas by hand. You can use Solvent-free varnish for Epson. Because the inks are water resistant but it depends also on the canvas.
The question is whether you have also containing a matt, satin or high gloss varnish want.
The clamping is also an art in itself, if it is to look good and to be exact. Also depends very much on the subject and whether the subject is beyond the clamping frame. Does not usually look so good.
If it does not go beyond the framework it needs to be working very closely. An image with the matching colored border wrapped around the frame, usually looks best.
The surface of the canvas can also be very different. From truckplane to very nice.
The thickness of the frame also changes the look. Test what looks better.
