There appears to be a bug in the process by which you select the Display Object for a point (or a map) hotspot.

1. Using any of the built-in themes, if you select 'other' from the drop down, it opens the file selection diaolgue but when you've selected a file its name does not appear in the selction box...

2. ...instead that filename replaces the last but one option (picture sequence) in the drop down, however the selected 'other' file is used when you export.

3. Then if you create another point (or map) hotspot the drop down list options appear to be correct but in fact if you select the next to last (picture sequence) you will instead get the last selected 'other' file.
