Have a look ...

http://code.google.com/p/android-lighthouse/
Is it possible to use papywizard with an android device with this tool?

Re: Android ... possible?

It is theorically possible. But I think the path is not easy, as all this is still in developement...

If someone can bring up a full qt-android system, then it will be possible to make some tests, and see if Papywizard needs some adjustements to work.

Re: Android ... possible?

Kolor will support that. We should have for January some people working here dedicated to port Papywizard on several platform.
When I have confirmation of that, I'll post a news on Papywizard subforum.

Several platforms?

Android; and...?

Will you have people able to package the latest version for Mac?

I missed this exciting piece of news back in october. Can you give us any update on this project?

Re: Android ... possible?

We should have a trainer coming to the office but it didn't happen. So we'll probably do one platform ourselve.
End of January, we'll probably make a poll to decide which one is to be done first ( iphone-ipad, android, other, etc )

Android 2.x !

my tests are stuck...

following the comment of T. S. Ferreira from 21.june 2010:
http://www.akeric.com/blog/?p=879
I did download from http://code.google.com/p/android-script … loads/list
the package sl4a_r3.apk (script language for android) on my Sony-Erisson XPERIA X10 (updated to Android 2.1-update1)
and than after installing and starting I added phyton language.

I than downloaded papywizard sourcecode and unpacked the sourcefolder to my X10 device...
executing the papywizard.py

or any other .py file gives me no feedback no error etc.
so I expect that this way cant work... some option like making an executable I cant find, this seems only be made for running single py files... the default demo files are working that are coming with the SL4A package...

Liebe Gruesse,
Georg

Re: Android ... possible?

I don't think this is a multi-script problem, but Papywizard needs PyQt (Qt binfing for python), which does not exist for Android.

But this is strange you don't get any error message...

I do get an error If I execute it on command line....
last line of this errors

Code:

"...from PyQT4 import QtCore, QtGui ImportError: No module named PyQt4"

PyQT Homepage http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/software/pyqt/intro says in first line:
"PyQt is a set of Python bindings for Nokia's Qt application framework and runs on all platforms supported by Qt including Windows, MacOS/X and Linux."

hmm ok QT for Android is missing ...:
on first line of following link http://qt.gitorious.org/~taipan/qt/android-lighthouse the projects page is shown as http://code.google.com/p/android-lighthouse/ where a link exists "How to create and compile QT packages for Android": http://code.google.com/p/android-lighth … ki/Compile

a way in correct direction or a Dead End?

Re: Android ... possible?

Cross-compiling Qt (and PyQt!) is really a huge task!

Re: Android ... possible?

Good luck with the Android port!  I've been teetering on getting into the world of auto-pano, and Android control would basically be the tipping point!

Will be watching this space...

Re: Android ... possible?

Any idea when this might be ready for testing?  My new merlin seems to be working ok with the bluetooth mod.  Going out to  Yellowstone this spring and would love to not schlep the laptop any further then I have to smile

Have a nexus one to test it on if you're going to put out an alpha or beta to autopano customers.

Re: Android ... possible?

Hey folks,

I'm new to the community and still trying to find the best solutions for a portable time lapse rig based on a Merlin and papywizard.

Biggest hang up at the moment is the laptop required to run Papywizard.

Is there any news on getting this on to an android? That would be fantastic!!

Cheers,
Simon

Re: Android ... possible?

Unfortunally, Papywizard would need to be totally re-written to run on Android...

If you want a portable host for Papywizard get a Nokia N800 or N810 Internet tablet.

You should be able to pick one up for no more than you'd pay for an Android device.

Where are you located?

Re: Android ... possible?

Hello Simon,

Welcome on board, smile

If you can wait 2 or 3 weeks ...

We will release a Android application who will be able to use the Papywizard presets. (but ... this info is still confidential ... wink)
For the timelapse,  "Timelapse preset generators" are existing ...
Those presets can be used to control the Merlin head for Timelapse applications.

For the presets generators have a look on the next links:

http://www.kolor.com/forum/t6748-papywi … -generator
