Re: BEST WAY OF EXPORTING A 360 FOR A CLIENT?

Hi there that rig has two cameras on the bottom side, which greatly helps when dealing with the tripod. The tripod will always be there of course (it doesn't make stuff magically disappear q: ) but it's very manageable and the remaining parts are easily patchable or ignorable. For the stand, the spa...

Re: Google Cardboard Newbie Question

Hi Thanks for that. What I'm trying to ask is that can you use Go Pro Skeleton housings on the f360 explorer rig? Cheers Mark Ok this is the second time it happens so I'm really a big idiot; I misread pretty much everything I saw the freedom360 rig thinking it was the same as the F360. Disregard ev...

Re: Black lines

Hi Blinda, you seem a bit confused on how this works; this is a public forum, so you're not addressing Martin here ᗡ: Did you set up the go pros in 4:3 (1440p, 2,7K 4:3) aspect ratio or in 16:9? Also those are not nadir holes, they're just holes nadir is the bottom point of your sphere, whereas the ...

Re: Google Cardboard Newbie Question

Hi, all Kolor software can export 360 videos compatible with Google Cardboard The Freedom360 rig is not compatible with the underwater casing as far as I know, even if they were it would be a tragedy to stitch that because going underwater with flat casings greatly reduces the GoPro FOV making huge ...

Re: Sync over PluralEyes

AVP has built in motion compensation; just analyze the video for motion and that will suffice.
I don't see why you didn't create a new thread tho

Re: BEST WAY OF EXPORTING A 360 FOR A CLIENT?

Hi, AVP and AV can both export videos that are compatible with Cardboard. I don't know which players others use for delivery, since we usually give clients a Gear VR and either the standard video app or an ad hoc made app. We also made a couple of events with an Oculus DK2 attached to a standard mac...

Re: Oups... Different video sizes

Thanks Amidee for your reply. So I need to convert my 1080p video to 1440p, but I will have some control points missing, and probably a hole. Maybe I can add some text, logo, info... in this hole That would be an idea, although a bit odd to see maybe... Let us know the results (maybe post them here!)

Re: Synchronizing longer videos than 4 GByte

Hi, you're really lucky as I just had this exact problem and made a bash script to organize the files. It's in Italian so sorry for the folder names in Italian and comments in Italian (: It only works on mac. you can download it here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3532050/Scriptone.command I ho...

Re: Oups... Different video sizes

Sam,
with the 6 GoPro rig you need all cameras to be in 4:3 aspect ratio. 1080 won't work as not all the 360 view is covered.
You'll have holes, no matter how you stretch or crop your videos (:

Re: 8K/h265

Well . . . this is a FORUM. FORUMS exists to share opinions and experiences. You are not sharing anything as you're simply telling your view (not your experiences) without even caring for the other's. (edited by moderator) Since I'm fed up with your take about how my output will never gain anything...

Re: 8K/h265

Now I am even more confused... Ok, suppose you are right.. Who gets to view 11k 360 Video.. I certainly cannot.. My iMac is a Retina with 5K resolution. That is huge.. The GoPro shoots images at at quite nice sharpness. But when processing into Video Sphere, using a bunch of GoPros, the quality is ...

Re: 8K/h265

This is not how forums work; you're going off topic and also quite rude assuming you know better than the others that ask for the feature. I don't care if you have 8k posts and are a veteran around here, the netiquette has always been another. (Again) If you could please refrain from posting in this...

Re: 8K/h265

Would you have replied differently if I asked "up to 8K support"? Because that's what I meant, but you jumped up telling me that I don't need/I can't do that. Yours are all fair points, but this is completely, totally irrelevant to the discussion. If you want to discuss all of this, open a...

I don´t know what YOU might understand "VR!!!" - i just know what I understand: "virtual reality". Now that´s a wide array of things . . reaching from an Oculus kind of gadget to tablets or desktops or beamers or user-terminals in buildings . . or whatever. And not to forget: th...

Re: 8K/h265

For real, Klaus: I get what you mean, but the math is on my side I'm delivering 11% of the total pixels I have shot ELEVEN PERCENT you're trying to tell me that I don't have ANYTHING to gain from having the additional output? Is that really your point? That since I'm not shooting at one bajillion fp...

Re: 8K/h265

I'm not used to forums anymore, that's for granted. A complete stranger being smug about what I say and telling me basically that I don't know jack is something I forgot that could even happen. Re: 8K/h265

Conclusion: there are several things to come which already are rather impressing. 8k actually is not one of them. Nevertheless it´s getting closely researched - of course. For making it somewhat clearer: You all know that higher resolutions need shorter exposure-times. So imagine how it is shooting...

Re: 8K/h265

Klaus, I detailed the math behind our need for resolutions over 4K (8K should be good for the next almost decade, it's just that h265 supports resolutions higher than 4K) for VR. VR is immersive, and a truly 360 POV experience which is also quite portable. We don't do l+r because shooting 360 bifoca...

Re: 8K/h265

Yes it is
1080p, 1440p, 720p all refer to vertical resolution
2K (which is basically 1080p), 2.7K, 4K, 8K, 12K all refer to the horizontal resolution

Re: 8K/h265

Destiny, each GoPro records in 4K; in the 10 camera rig, we have then 7 cameras that produce 2160 pixels on the horizontal side. 7*2160 = 15120. We have a slightly less than 30% overlap, that means that 0,72* 15120 = 11K. There you have your 11K. You can actually have almost 12K when stars and plane...
