Thanks I know that, but really, just using the tripod and knowing where your nodal pont is, is sufficient. I made some trigonometry calculations in order to define how to shoot my upper and lower rows with minimal nodal point error... Now, with the fisheye, and only one row, it will be much easier.....

Thanks for the calculation. I had not realized that the vertical FOV was only 150°. Hence, my surprise ! I have just ordered a panoramic head and I know that it will have click stops every 60°; so, fine ! But, in general (daily conditions), I shoot handheld to save time : I however use my tripod as ...

Thanks ! You are right !

This is my first test with a fisheye and I had not realized up to now that the 180° angle was not vertical but diagonal. Surprisingly, there is no website to give the horizontal and vertical FOV for such lenses.

### Truncated panorama

I have been lent a Samyang fisheye lens and just shot my first panorama with it. This pano is made of 6 images The 6 images (portrait mode) are shot alternatively with 0° and 5° vertical orientation. Surprisingly the panorama is irregularly truncated in its upper part, not covering the full 180°. An...

A suggestion that may work to a certain extent: When you stitch your pictures together, select the control points as being part of the background : ie do not try to align the short range objects that will cause parallax. When this is done and when you get a perfect result (except for those objects),...

### Image slicing and merging software

Months ago, I already posted a question regarding this and surprisingly I did not get any satisfactory answer... I try again today I am looking for a software able to slice a 400 Mpixel panorama (16 bit tif) into smaller images that can be manipulated by standard image processing software (I am usin...

I stitched my very first panoramas with Hugin ! And it was efficient, but... You have to spend time to fiddle with the different settings, parameters, Man Machine Interface... And it is much more time consuming than APP/APG. One day, I fell on APP/APG, was impressed by the tutorials, decided to try ...

Yes, It may - This panorama would be my record. But, until now I only had 2 GBytes memory.

So, I keep hoping... There may be some option that I do not use, etc...

Latest try with 400 Mbytes. Same error message, send report, failure.

### APG 2.6 RC1 failure on windows 32 bits

I am trying unsuccessfully to detect a 249 images panoramas (83 x 3 brackets) - As this will be a "preview", the images are (at the moment) the low quality 16 Mpixels jpg produced by the camera. First test: I put the memory slider to its minimum (as recommended by Kolor). When, a certain time after ...

Thank you for the valuable information of your reply. With my new memory configuration, I have only made one test sofar, by re-rendering the panorama I had just rendered before. This was a 9 images panorama (3 views + bracketing). The run time was reduced from 20 minutes to 8 !!! This difference may...

I made an upgrade of my windows XP 32 configuration from 2 to 4 Gbytes. When editing the APG parameters, there is no change: - previously I could use up to 900 MBytes out of 2 GBytes - now, I can use up to 900 MBytes out of 2.7 GBytes Strange: logically, APG should authorize up to 1.6 GBytes ! For i...

Updating cameras.txt can unfortunately not resolve your scrambling problem. It just will make your life easier at image opening in Autopano.

Regarding your scrambling issue, I have no idea; but I do not use a fisheye.

I have a 5100 and already reported the issue... for 2.5

Edit the cameras.txt file (located in some APG folder) and create a line corresponding to the 5100 using the same syntax and information as for the D7000.

It will work...

FYI: My desktop configuration is Windows XP 32 bits with 2 Gbytes of RAM. APG 2.6 works perfectly well (I have tested up to 69 images pano), although it is slower than 2.5. With 2.6, it is also worth restarting the software after detection in order to make the rendering faster (bad memory management...

You mention interpolator problem as a possible cause of your troubles.

### V2.6 compared to V2.5

Forewarning: I have not performed any measurements; so, this post is based on feelings based on intensive use of APG over the last weeks !
