To Martin

You should try to send your set of images and .pano file to Alexandre and challenge him to find out a solution for your panorama. He always claims that AP 2.5 is much better than the previous version.

Best regards

To Lumelix I was wondering whether there was a way to automatically correct dust. Unfortunately, this function (available in Nikon Capture NX2) requires test images to be made. Thanks for the advice regarding the use of the correction brush. But, I definitively need to clean my sensor and lenses. I ...

Prior to developping a new version (2.6), you should really spend time in developping a comprehensive documentation for 2.5. As already mentioned in other posts, the central part of 2.5 documentation is the description of the different workflows. Unfortunately, this description is far from being com...

I have a modest configuration with only 2 Gbytes of memory, under Windows XP 32 bits. The file did not open with gimp. With a lot of care, I could open it with Nikon capture NX2, but was unable to do anything serious with it. I share your views reg the limitations of HD view. Presently, I do not hav...

Thanks to everybody for your suggestions. At the end of the day, I made an other (almost free of charge) choice: - I discovered HD View from Microsoft and a utility called hdmake (both free of charge), able to produce a tile panorama and html page, either from a single image or from an already tiled...

How to process and display very big images ?

Here is a question from a dummy : In general, I perform assembly of spherical panoramas 10 000 x 5 000 pixels and have no issue in term of post-processing and display I have just stitched a picture of the Amiens Cathedral facade, that is 275 Mpixels big (my biggest panorama ever) and I have no idea ...

1/ Thanks to both of you. I will make a clean uninstall/install of APG 2.5. and, if necessary, change the multiband setting to - 2. But am I correct to say that those shadowy (or dirty) patterns are an effect of blending and vignetting correction limitations ? And do I understand well that multiband...

Bad image quality...

I may not be the first person to complain about the bad results achieved by APG (2.5 RC2). In this case, the panorama is constituted of 10 images in a raw (portrait mode, Nikon Zoom 112 mm equiv. focal). The stitching result is perfect (rms = 0.87). Final rendering performed with anti-ghost (nothing...

To Leedsjoe : Thanks. I have been a little lazzy for considering other options. All my images are Tif 16 bits. Just converting them into Jpg would highly reduce the amount of memory for the transfer. Unacceptable HDR image

I have just tried - for the first time with APG 2.5 - the HDR function (APG 2.5 RC2). I did exactly as explained in the documentation (case 2 E). A/ First, I had two issues (not documented by Kolor), that KOLOR has not answered sofar - See: http://www.autopano.net/forum/t11645-hdr-workflow-from-raw ...

Yes, that's why I raised those questions. The rationale behind the questions is that the TIF files (-2, 0, +2) are generated from single raw and that the exif data do not reflect the actual exposure set by Nikon capture. So, please, read my 2 questions (asked again below) at the light of this and yo...

HDR workflow from raw

I have started, unsuccessfully sofar, to test the HDR mode. From a set of 24 raw files, I generate a set of 24 x 3 bracketed images -2, 0, +2, that I call: ZEROxx.tif;MTWOxx.tif and PTWOxx.tif (each exposure is automatically generated in batch by nikon capture and the names are also given automatica...

You have to accept this idea of an other step in your processing workflow.

I only trust Nikon to convert NEF files to TIF (or to JPG)
