Re: APP: Percentage of Overlap?

because autopano will often find "panos" that are really just one set of bracketed images, or maybe two sets of bracketed images (took a second set to assure sharpness) so they are basically 3, 6 or 9 files with 100% overlap and not a pano at all. So I want to discard those auto found pano...

Re: APP: Percentage of Overlap?

Just about every one of my panos has greater than 99% overlap (I guess because I shoot all bracketed panos) It'd be great if only one image per stack could be used for the overlap calculation. Also it'd be really nice to see the overlap percentage in the groups/panos main window (where you see proje...

Re: [Win 7 x64 APG 2.5.2] Extended save as question

Any chance the team could check if Qfile::rename has been reverted to qt:copy in extended save as before releasing 3.5 beta? Thanks!

Re: Save As Project ?

Are you referring to the fact that it asks you were to save each .pano file that you have open? If so, the same thing happens when you do save all as, and extended save all as I too would like to be able to specify one folder for all open panoramas, just like I would like to specify one set of rende...

Re: default project folder should be source image path

A couple things, you have to restart after changing the global parameter, and already created groups/panos save the settings from when they were created, not the current setting

Isn't this thread about GPU performance loading images in the editor very slowly? or should I start a new one?

Thanks for your reply alexandre! The reason I mentioned it is that my canon 24-105 and 100-400 seem to support differences in focal length of about 10mm (am away from my computer so memory may be wrong) which isn't a whole lot at telephoto end

I too think the selection of images in the control point editor being slow for the user on large panos.

Unfortunately if I enable the GPU the performance slows down considerably. For example, when I go into edit mode the window starts with an empty background, then one image at a time is drawn until the image is complete. This takes several seconds. Clicking the preview button gives the 'busy' indica...

[SOLVED] group by lens option

In the browse by folder dialog, one of the options is group by focal length, but sometimes the focal length changes ever so slightly on a zoom lens. A nice 2nd option would be to group by lens/camera (based on EXIF info), so split the pano group if the lens or camera changes or when the time delay i...

Checking back on this issue, I'm "moving" via extended save as some panos from one folder to a subfolder of that folder e.g. 2012-07-27 has the files, I do extended save choosing "move" to 2012-07-27/panos/B61p0875_B61P1003-123 images/ and I watch in resource manager .cr2 files being read and writte...

I'm looking at resource monitor in windows 7 while doing an extended save as that is going very slowly, and it's reading from source directory and writing to destination, rather than doing a move. This is with version 3.0.4 running on win7 x64 so it's not just a windows 8 issue

Just as a double check you do have use multiple cores set to all your cores in the settings menu right? that being said I think detection is single threaded. With a hexcore and hyperthreading there should be 12 cores available. 100% cpu on a single core would show up as 1/12th or ~8% of your cpu loa...

This feature request is not referring to auto save (which is great!)
but when it's already been saved (with auto save or manual) and then you do an extended save as to move the image files, it'd be nice if it also moved the saved .pano file

while the browse folder, minimum number in a group option helps with this, it doesn't help where a group has a bracketed set along with other photos (so it meets minimum number for a group). example: I set minimum images for group to 4 to it doesn't look at a 3 image bracketed set by itself, but if ...

Is it possible that in 3.0.5 the code ha reverted back to copying and then deleting (maybe all of 3.0 builds?)
It seems much slower to extended save as, and taskmgr shows a huge amount of reading and writing while it does it.
This is on windows 8.

There was some discussion about this in this bug report. http://www.kolor.com/forum/t15450-apg-3.0.0-a1-win-7-sp1-x64-crash-when-out-of-temporary-space My understanding is that if you ahve multiple temp folders for autopano, it will leave 1GB of space before moving on to the next one. However if you...

I think a somewhat light APS-C camera such as the canon 7D is a good choice for the gigapan. My epic isn't strong enough to have my Canon 1D on there. plus the 1.6x multiplier gives you less angle of view and more shots (which as long as you are shooting at low iso to get good quality pixels will en...

blending -- favor in focus vs. out of focus

It'd be great if the long focal length preservation vs. cutting choice used "more in focus" or "areas with more high frequency detail" to chose where to blend when the focal lengths are the same. I tend to refocus each photo in the panorama, and have to go back and manually blend to choose the more ...

I second the vote for 16GB. most laptops support it these days so if the upgrade is too expensive and you are brave enough you can buy the RAM and install it yourself for ~$75.
also keep in mind you need the hard disk space for temporary copies of the files (uncompressed)
