APG - Crop improvement

It would be helpful to Shift-click (or Ctrl-Click) the Crop tool and don't let it auto-select crop area in the pano, but to preserve manual crop selection.
This is helpful for fine-tuning cropping, if done in multiple steps.

Thanks

I might have figured it out.
Default optimization settings had selection "remove links over this error"
and 2.0 was selected by default.

APG Color Correction by layers: Add Levels per layer

APG Color Correction by layers:
sometimes it is impossible to equalize brightness of different layers, lets say sky and land.
Layer based color correction is wonderful within a layer.

This can be taken one step further if a per-layer Levels adjustment would be possible.

Thanks!

APG - Display image filename

Please add a tooltip which displays image filename when in Layers Mode or in ControlPoints editor Mode.
When image is selected, show filename in the information window (make it easy to copy?)

Thanks!

[APG 2.07 Win7x64] Pano detected, displays no control points

I restarted APG to reflect the memory config change, Pano editor opened this time. Panorama was detected correctly, but no control points displayed. I manually added control points between all images. Pressed "Optimize" - all control points disappeared again. Pano rendered correctly... Focus-pocus I...

[APG 2.07 Win7x64] crash after memory config change

So, [APG 2.07 Win7x64] crash after memory config change: installed APG 2.07 opened preferences changed memory allocation to 1GB - suggested was 451MB (I have 4 GB it detected 1.3GB - ANOTHER BUG) I knew I had to restart APG in order for changes to be applied. Anyway, I did not restart , thinking it ...

APG - Alpha channel in final render

1. [BUG] Alpha channel in final render should not be present if it is completely white. Reason: Alpha channel increases file size but has no use. 2. [FEATURE REQUEST] Would be great to suppress alpha channel creation through new option in render dialog. So that even if there are some blank spots in ...

Alexandre, Thanks for detailed layout of the plan. I hope that current APG users get to keep their *current* APT version after you branch them into separate products in the future. With regard to a new engine - does that mean that full rendering will be OpenCL based? That would certainly speed thing...

I see... I paid a much higher price for upgrade to APG (vs APP) 11 months ago just to get the HDR support and it is still not available... Now you are saying that it will be in the *end* of this year?...

Alpha layer is always present in TIF file

This applies to any version of APP and APG I have ever used. When rendering to a TIF of PSD format and selecting "Layers: None" I still get an Alpha layer, even when image fills the panorama area completely. This unnecessary Alpha layer adds size to the file and requires additional steps for deletin...

hi Alexandre,
Interesting, I was wondering why the final rendering is not done with GPU, as it would have been so much faster. Is this some sacrifice - speed for quality? Do you think GPU will be used for final rendering in the future?

when detection quality is changed to maximum, curved frames in planar projection become straight.
This is very strange - why should detection quality have an effect on this geometrical issue?

There is something else I just discovered.
I developed RAW files into TIF-s using ACR but different ACR settings (exposure, contrast, etc).
Screenshots below illustrate the issue with "curved images in planar projection".
I think this is the reason for bad detection.

This appears to be even more interesting.

I opened the problematic TIF files in photoshop and saved as JPG file.
Tried to detect a pano from JPG-s. RMS = 1.91, while RMS from TIFs=3.61

Something is really going on here...

Alexandre, could you take a look?

when NOT running as administrator, Extended Save causes APG to be not responding.
When running as administrator, saving on a separate had disk, not system drive.

1. RMS is not a great measure of quality of the stitch, as you say "images are more distorted...". Geometric distortion of individual images in the panos is very different: Pano with TIFs from Camera Raw look more bulging and this does not allow them to be aligned properly in the pano. If, however,...

APG 2.06 - detection of TIFF from various raw converters

It occurs that detection quality for 16bit TIF-s produced by Lightroom 3 x64 and Camera Raw 5.6 x64 is very different. 1.72 vs 3.61 the same XMP files were used for raw processing. JPG files produced by the same CameraRaw from the same raw files get detected at 1.91 as well. 16bit TIF files produced...
