[APG V2 XP/SP3 noGPU] Control Points Editor: CP badly displayed

See attached screenshots - all while building the same pano.

My best explanation of this behaviour is that memory is getting low - since late in an intense working session; and we have known memory leaks?!

Note: this is Yonge St., Toronto, just south of Bloor.

I am now using V2.0.0. The attached screenshot shows an analogous situation to that originally reported in this thread. This time we do get the detected pano but the group says no pano found - it is the second one shown. I have had problems in reproducing this error but does have to do with kicking ...

[APG V2.0.1 XP/SP3 noGPU] Rotate gives bad fit

I attach two screenshots:

the first is after a 90 degree rotate, following initial detection that produced a wrong orientation

the second after running an autofit.

Note: can supply reduced set of source images

btw: this is Lake Muskoka in Ontario - recommended destination.

[APG V2 XP/SP3 noGPU] Default render screen ratio: change un-sticky

The screenshot shows a render begun in the default format of render screen. Note proportion allocated to image view.

Changes made to get more 'real estate' for image are not sticky between sessions.

[V2 XP/SP3 noGPU] add image does not update project name

I have my project filename set to %i %j which in practice took the filenames of the first and last images in the file list seen in the panorama editor's layers list. In the first screenshot we can see that the last list name is 3883 and so is the project name, at the top of the screenshot. For the s...

Note: I am now working with v2 as before XP/SP3 no GPU. Adjust lens distortion gets reset, over-riding any previous unset, in the released version in the following circumstances: 1. group created by select images 2. group created by move to new group in main window 3. when groups are reconstituted a...

[RC2 XP/SP3 noGPU] Unsetting 'Adjust lens distortion'

In the first screenshot, we have a group loaded and global settings displayed at the Optimization Tab, adjust lens distortion is unset In the second screenshot we have settings for that group displayed at the Optimization Tab, adjust lens distortion is set. [And, yes, I haven't made any changes; I d...

Hope this response not too late to be useful; just returned from 2 weeks away. In the Render Settings box, if you look to the right of the filename parameters, there is a "?". Clicking on that gives documentation of all the elements that can be used in a (output) filename. The reason for the error m...

Just for info: not sure exactly what the fire is but the caption speaks of the locals setting fire to the side of the mountain, so it is some sort of grass/brush wood fire?

It would indeed be interesting to learn what techniques/technologies were used.

[beta1 XP SP3 noGPU] History snapshot: bug and discussion

This posting has to do with the Snapshots displayed in the upper part of the History Panel in the Panorama Editor. I bring up four matters: a) the bug: when the Layers Editor is used to selectively display images, the action is described in history as 'Set Visibility'. However, when a snapshot is ta...

DamoRed, Glad you found what you needed. To make some summary points about netbooks. I bought a netbook because I am going to be doing a lot of travelling and required a netbook for keeping in touch, writing etc. I am also a serious but not a professional photographer. For me, it was a bonus that th...

I have a Samsung NC10 netbook with a N270 (Atom) processor @ 1.60GHz and 1GB RAM. Did a lot of pano processing successfully using beta1 when on my travels last week - number of images around the 12 to 50 range.

This forum

Alexandre,

I am sure that, as part of testing Beta1 and later versions, I shall be posting in this thread. Could you arrange for a sticky post that says a few words about your intentions here. If only to encourage postings!

Also, not clear why this is a sub-forum...

[APG B1 WinXP SP noGPU] Panos not detected while other pano displayed

Best way I can find to report this bug is to set out how to create it: 1. Create a group of say 8 images known to make a panorama 2. Run detection 3. When detection completed and while detected panorama is being displayed, kick off detection again against the same/original group 4. Result: this time...

In a sense this thread has been signed off, with a 'cheers', however... I bought a G10 earlier this year to take on my travels; I do take panoramas but only 'wide screen' not 360 degrees. It is very robust and full of features which are easy to get to. Also, it does a remarkably good job when set to...

Maximum size of 'personality' image to show on forum

Thought it was time I put up a photo of myself on the forum.

Help! I keep on getting told that the image is too large. I have got it down to about 100 pixels and 30KB but still no go. So what is the limit, and where is the documentation that tells me what those limits are?

Although I don't do vertical panoramas that often, I have found a similar problem of unwanted rotation back to the horizontal: this is when I do an optimisation in the Control Points Editor. This of course means I have potentially one more work step, to rotate the image back to the vertical - for ev...

Worth mentioning that, wthin the forum, the section called 'Future' is there for us to bid for enhancements - like the one you ask for here.

Posting there also gives another chance to draw the Kolor team's attention to your request!

btw: the image names are IMG_ (which is Canon?) but I can't find any EXIF data.

To add a couple of points: there are two different kinds of things going on here: 1) removing the link between two images entirely - thus reducing the number of control points that you have to deal with at all 2) selectively removing CPs for the links that remain, e.g. from sky 1) is done in the Pan...
