Question 1: is Autopano Pro 2 the right version? Or should I upgrade to Autopano Giga ? Sorry, I'm really not a specialist of Gigapan. I just just tell my understanding. Differences between APP/APG don't seem to interfere with Gigapan way of shooting, it's more on future HDR, Flash export via APT.....

All I have read confirm your information : software RAID gives a little impovment, only on board RAID controler can be efficient.

1- you use a specific software to handle your folders / files. This Explorer substitute can be also source of problem. It's not fair to complain only to APP forum, did you also report to this sofware editor ? 2- did this second selection was made with Explorer or Explorer substitute, it was not clea...

Thanks to Kolor team for organizing this Panobook, to Rami to follow up his received messages.

Does this mean, the ultimate Stitchingmachine has four SSDs? Or is one of those four non critical (source images?) and can be a conventional HDD? Peter - Autopano temp folder is critical for sure as smartblend create many different files, deleting the older during the process - sources files, most ...

I do not say this can explain the error message but when we add/remove links or CPs, I think we must re-optimize.

I will definitively welcome name proposal for 'smartblend 2' :) SmarterBlend ? Interesting idea. But smartblend 3 will become SmartestBlend. What about smartblend 4 ? The name : not so important, what result and efficiency will it bring : that's a key point. Thank's to Kolor Dev's team...

Autopano is available for different OS, with or w/o GPU... the behavior may depend on version and OS.

And home shooting with very near objects generally need shooting with tripod and pano head. Your final rendered pano seems quite nice compared to your workfl...
