converting from .PSB to .kro or/for deepzoom?

Does anybody know a tool to convert photoshop .psb back to .kro or to the deepzoom format? (not sure of the file extention) Gigatiler 2 keeps crashing at 99% conversion. KroUtils seems to only go from KRO to RAW and no the other way around. PS only lets me save the 10.5 gigapixel pano in .raw, .tiff...

What the heck just happened?

Well, today's shoot couldn't have gone worse. It was the first big shoot with the panogear head. We did several other small tests that turned out well, so I was quite confident we would just have to set things up in papywizard and let things click away... Around 3 hours into a 5 hour shoot, Papywiza...

Hi inMotion The pano looks very nice! How have you filled in the sky in this version ? The image resolution was 3 gigapixel, so i just opened it in photoshop, and used the magic wand selection tool to delete the old sky used some gradients. fairly simple, just really time consuming due to the resol...

I posted a sky synthesizer in 2008: see http://www.kolor.com/forum/t4515-synthesizing-the-sky . With some effort it could create an artificial sky for you. wow, very cool! thanks! do you have any panos you could show that you've used that for?? here is a 5k preview of the pano. going to shoot again...

yeah, over sharpened and overHDRed is correct, and in this case, intentional.

after we shot these images, we were exhausted. we took turns, each person did a row. a row took around 10-15 min to shoot.

No, i didn't shoot in XML mode. The panogear head was stuck in customs until 2 days ago, and the weather has been horrible - so i can't reshoot now. I shot manually each exposure myself, which is also why there is an inconsistent number of images per row.

Thanks for the advice Alexandre. When xml with papywizard did not work at all. Using the move mode is extreeemly unresponsive. Is that normal for a 1600 image gigapan? I have a 4.4ghz 8 core cpu, 32gb ram, 2 SSDs, and 1gb GF GFX 560. There are like 600 images that would need to be manually placed. T...

Sky replacement for 11 gigapixel image

You may have seen my previous post about this specific pano already, but I want to explore the possibility of saving it, as the weather will be horrible for the foreseeable future and I am on a tight schedule. I shot this gigapano without a rotating head and didn't know that I needed to have the ima...

man, you guys are awesome. :) i'm really glad you like the image. the final one will be sooo much better. shanghai is so close to my heart, i'm glad i can share some of its awe with you. The total weight was close to 2kg I think. The panogear/Merlin should be able to handle a good 4kg, supposedly. T...

drat. i wish i knew that before i bought it. there should have been specifications on the main page about the shoot times with longer lenses.

here's an image of the 100 image test that took just about 30 min.

Well, we just got back from the test shoot with the Panogear. We did just a small 100 image pano, as we only had about an hour left of day light. I'm curious to find out how fast the panogear with papywizard is. For me, it took about 15 seconds for each photo shot. It seemed like it spent a long tim...

Thanks! Advice taken on "do a smaller shoot first". Will do one tomorrow and post back tomorrow night with results. We'll be using Papywizard, though we will get the Touch panel controller for the next city. This is the lens that i used before, and will most likely use on the next shoot: http://www....

Just received the Panogear head. Any advice for my first shoot?

I'm not sure this is the correct forum for this, but here it is anyway. My goal is at least a 180 degree 20 gigapixel panorama of a cityscape. The final output will be in a 10x1 aspect ratio, so in order to account for the height of some buildings, it may need to be more than 180 degrees. We will us...

Thanks gkaefer for the explanation! i'll have to be using papywizard with the panogear head. It seems likely that i'll be receiving the panogear head today. My friend has been waiting at customs for the last 5 hours trying to convince them to release it.

But it sounds as if these Import wizard workarounds are not going to work for you this time; it may be that the best that can be said of this particular shoot is that you are learning what not to do, but I think that could have been learned an easier way than spending 3 hours shooting 1500 images! ...

also, I have no idea how to use papywizard in simulation mode, and i wasn't able to find anything mentioning it in the documentation. Opening the "papywizard-simul" shortcut provides this command prompt.

i'm beat...time for sleep. thanks for all the input guys!

Followed lumelix's guide as best I could. Converted to JPG, 50% size, 60% quality, and renamed the images. But...

I think I've run into a problem - not every row has the same number of images. Is there a workaround for this, or do I need to reshoot?

or am I doing something else wrong?

Hi inMotion Your pattern isn't a problem! But you have to rename the images so that they give you one of the available pattern. I have done this to, because I take one of the panos in two sequences. I sort every row in a folder and then rename all files. For the gigapan import you must have the pat...
