Crystal Cove Sunset (17-DEC-2005)...

Another one that previously didn't work out using PTA. Again... just a low-res render, still some corrections to do, particularly on the right horizon.

Crystal Cove Sunset (18-DEC-2005)... HDR!!!

OK, I finally gave this one a go w/ HDR. When I took this, APP didn't support Fuji RAW files properly and TIF doesn't permit HDR mapping... kind of forgot about this image. I had a previous version, but I don't think I posted it here. Anyway... I'm dying to give this one a run when TIF support for H...

NEVER again w/o a pano head... the foreground was a mess in the 100% output. Took forever cloning out duplicated rocks and fixing shadows that seemed to be cast by nothing at all because of mis-alignment.

Crystal Cove Sunset (26-FEB-2006)

OK, back to my old ways... been about a month since I was down to shoot an ocean sunset at my favorite local place. I even forgot my pano head for the tripod and was furious. I debated not even hiking down to the beach, but figured I would go anyway. The pano created from RAW was terrible, but when ...

Fire & Ice #001

OK... here's a better presentation. Different images altogether.

The one on the left is a single source image... the one on the right is a 1x4 mosaic.

Francois, 1) There's blue and then there's out of control. Any attempt that I've made to increase the saturation goes off. I am trying to play with it, but I don't want it to look garrish. 2) Perhaps lost in translation there... not sure what you're getting at. This was meant to be a bit of an abstr...

Icecave

Icecave Franz Josef Glacier, Main Iceflow Westland National Park South Island, New Zealand Unexpected multiple pano! All shot w/o moving the tripod or adjusting the nodal point. It also happens that the settings for these two lenses on my pano head are nearly identical. (1) 1x2 w/ a 20mm lens / whol...

Panorama fanatic: look at the frames to the left of the trunk on the lower level. You'll see big changes in exposure due to the inclusion of the white sky. So that frame was exposed less than the rest. Look at the lowest lefthand branch.

f.simond: yes, as soon as we get HDR up and running on TIFs I'll be set. I am having lots of trouble getting the standard color mapper to work properly. I tried about 10 variations of individual and combined target layers (can't remember the right term) and none of them seem to work properly, all I ...

From what I understand, there's a bug reading EXIF from 8-bit and 16-bit TIF's at the moment, so HDRI is grayed out.

Now... if we could get that HDR w/ TIF bug sorted out that would be great!

drop down for file type in select pictures...

In the select pictures dialog box, it would be nice to have: TIF (*.TIF) RAW (*.NEF, *.RAW, etc) JPG (*.JPG) etc etc etc That way I can more easily choose if I want to run the selection off of a processed TIF or RAW. I have to say that so far I am more pleased w/ the results off of processed TIFs th...

exporting...

Foolish and semantic, but you could probably block out the "export to PT" when using RAW images as source since it can't read them.

bilzmale,

I like the detail in the image, but there are several places that appear nearly blown out, particularly the rear quarter panel of the car and the back of one of the street signs. I'd suggest trying to take the images later or earlier in the day when the light is a bit softer.

nope, after you turn on HDR, bring up the HDR tool. It will default to 128, you need to take it down in the range of 100 - 110.

The image is very contrasty at the moment which I am not too pleased with. One of the issues that I am facing is that the HDR (to me) puts out a very low contrast image no matter what I do. Then when do edit them in PS I have some difficulty getting the contrast where it needs to be. The major image...
