Hmmm... that would be quite a bit of time and work, but it is an obvious answer. I think that AlexandreJ answered real question at hand in a previous thread when he noticed that tone mapping was not carrying across the layers. So, I could just output w/ layers and then merge them on my own. That's t...

I am now playing around w/ that other suggestion, not sure I am getting the hang of it yet.

>As far as USM, I recommend doing in the the Luminosity channel mode in RGB mode without conversion to LAB and then back. I am not familar w/ this technique, can you elaborate? FYI I am a big believer in color profiling... I have a color calibrated monitor, ICC profiles for the labs that I use for p...

Have you tried printing this one? Looking at it a second time, you might have some gamut issues on the yellow... you might want to soft proof it.

Crystal Cove Sunset (04-MAR-2006) / v1.2 / TIF HDR

Still having problems getting all 18 images in this final project and color matched the way that I want, but I couldn't resist posting what's been found so far :) I dropped some of the files that were giving me problems from the project and rendered as square instead of the more rectangular composit...

HDR issue, perhaps...

I am going to have difficulty explaining this one. Assume that I have a top/bottom image set w/ 25% overlap. But, the exposure differences in the images is quite dramatic. Now assume that there is a rigid line across the overlap area, e.g. horizon. I have an image set where I don't want the an HDR b...

> Am I correct in recalling that you use a nodal ninja?

Yes, and while it also is not perfect, it comes w/ the right config to set-up your camera even if the tripod mount is not in line w/ the lens.

Just wait 'til you see the one I took tonight... working on it now, but v1.2 beta is having a hard time picking up two frames for some reason, driving me nuts.

capacious, Well done... personally I would ditch the red buoy, and see in your original file the tree reflection on the left and the bottom of the boat are not cut off. Why handheld? Crystal Cove Sunset (18-DEC-2005)... winter sunset colors.

After looking at a previous post, I was unhappy that the image looked cluttered and lacking compositional focus. So, I went for all out simplicity and there should be no question about what I was trying to portray here. This is a crop from a 2x6 (x2 exposure brackets)... so probably the equivalent o...

timeline on TIF HDR support?

Hi, just curious on a timeline for TIF HDR support. I've got some projects in the works that I might need to print soon. Do you have a best guess on support for this? or should I proceed w/ render from RAW?

Or, if there is a workout in editing the EXIF, let me know and I'll just do that.

The colors are really hard to say. Far be it from me to say that I am a purist, but there probably wasn't that much manipulation of colors on this photo. Not to get semantic, but there are more ways to manipulate colors and saturation other than something like Photoshop. For example, by bracketing w...

Crystal Cove Sunset (03-DEC-2005)... HDR!!!

This is the first pano that I tried to capture down at Crystal Cove, didn't like it too much w/o HDR. So I re-ran it w/ HDR off of the RAW files. I took these shots before I had a pano head, so these were shot landscape: 3x2 (x2 for bracketed exposures for blending) http://members.cox.net/christiank...

Dynamic Range / Fuji S3 Pro

In response to the question from this link This images speaks volumes to me about the Dynamic Range of the S3 and how it can handle highlight detail where other systems might have a lot of difficulty. About as harsh as I could find... shot in complete sunlight standing on a glacier. Just so you know...

I'll post some information and examples over in the "Open Talk" forum tonight. Suffice to say that I am very happy with the S3 Pro. I was very pleased using the S2 until the sensor just died one day :( You are correct that the RAW files are huge @ about 25MB, so my CF card capacity was cut in half i...
