Re: converting cylindrical to equirectangular projections

Thanks Destiny, Klaus and Mediavets for those tips Just to reiterate, I wanted to post 360 panoramas on the web to share with friends where the panorama is displayed full screen and rotates. Martin - just use PTP 1.8 for making your panos intercative, put them on your webspace and show them on the ...

Re: converting cylindrical to equirectangular projections

That doesn't seem to make sense to me. You said the pano image had to have a 360x180 FOV, but if you 'clamp to extent' then it won't. You can specify image size when rendering. The maximising of the extent just has the effect of putting a lot of blank space around the image to make it 360*180 (and ...

Re: converting cylindrical to equirectangular projections

I elected to go for the option (7) above - the restitched spherical panorama using clamped extents and slightly cropped. This required less re-sizing tan the other spherical options Thanks for your help on this best Martin That doesn't seem to make sense to me. You said the pano image had to have a...

converting cylindrical to equirectangular projections

All my 360 degree panoramas are single rows of images in cylindrical format I am keen to put these onto Google+ panorama display for sharing but this viewer primarily supports equirectangular projections - it will take cylindrical as well but the display is concave lens shaped Is it possible (prefer...

Re: Rending a Pano for LivePano

This test is still not right.. several issues still remain but it's working ok'ish.. http://www.destinyvirtualtours.com/PTPV2kolorRC1/NewLivePano.html Now I am more able to assit anyone who would like to give the LivePano feature a play. The software is already inside PTP V2, but you need to buy it...

Re: weighted layers

There are a number of lens distortion parameters you can set in the APG "Settings" in the Optimization tab so it might be worth an experiment with these and also to have a look at the User Guide It is unusual to find that much difference in the middle shots compared to the top/bottom - can...

Re: weighted layers

Can you not just flag all the required images as Reference Images (you can have as many reference images as you want or none at all) and set Colour Mode=Auto

Re: Create Long Street Elevation

I just posted a reply to this but it seemed to disappear into cyberspace ! APG even with Multiple Viewpoints checked won't do it in my experience The only product that I could find that does stitching "as is" without warping etc was Canon Photostitch which I think can be downloaded as free...

Re: colour correction when shot on aperture priority

You can also try setting the blending level to 0 from the default of -2 (this is done on the preview screen in edit mode). This gives the maximum blending across the whole panorama and will reduce the banding shown in your image

Re: Full Preview and rendered image difference.

This topic has been discussed earlier on this forum http://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18361&hilit=preview+different+to+render#p121099 The only way to get a reliable preview which will be the same as the final render is to preview the whole panorama in one screen. If only part of...

One way is to highlight the link(s) you are interested in in edit mode then go to the CTRL PTS tab at the bottom of the screen and sort that by RMS (descending) by clicking on the RMS column heading twice. You can then shift-click to select a range higher than whatever value you want (say 3 to just ...

Hi Bo

I have seen the same effect on mine sometimes.

Unlike what you said, I often clear it up by deleting all poor (non-green) control points where possible and getting rid of any in the near foreground to avoid unnecessary parallax issues

I think you are describing an orthogonal panorama and if you type "orthogonal" into the Kolor search facility you can see that this has been discussed before and will give some useful references. Not possible in APG if I recall This paper seems to give a good discussion on the topic http://grail.cs....

PS: One more point - thinking of Hans´ post: it´s quite obvious (maybe not to all of us, Hans ;)) that it´s quite impossible to correct a stitch where the background is correct but the foreground has errors. Either the foreground can be corrected - then the background gets errors - or the backgr...

...... The problem is: as a photographer doing panoramas you need to know at least the basics of both - photography and stitching. When somebody tells me he doesn´t want to learn it it´s not on me to convince him to do learn it nevertheless - but then he/she´d better give his work away to get it...

I think you just proved that it's possible to get rid of the stitching errors in a pano by just taking out the two overlapping shots and stitching them on their own :) Next question then : how do you put this back into the whole pano ? Does his pano comprise more than these two images? LOL I hope s...

But presumably these foreground objects don't dominate the whole panorama so the focus bracketing (if depth of field won't suffice) and exposure bracketing would only be required on these sections if this is practical to achieve

I do a lot of HDR with this combination. But always use a strong tripod. So normaly I mustn't use the align-function in Photomatix. This function can make you trouble because it cuts of the empty edges so you get different image sizes. Perhaps this can confuse APG ? I also use only every second sho...
