Re: Ghost Images - Grass

Using your method I have the problem of a dark spot around the sun. Do you have any suggestions how to solve that? I couldn't see any dark spots when I tried it. I had a look at using each of the 3 exposures as the photomatix base and tried the slider all the way from 0-100% I used the "Natura...

Re: Cropping in PTP to reduce 360x180 image

I was interested in trying out the registry hack (after backing uo !) but it looks as though the content of the "general" subfolder has been redefined without the parameter being defined any more (I tried PTP 2.5.0 and 2.5.8) I have an old version of PT (2.1) still set up and I found it in...

Cropping in PTP to reduce 360x180 image

I read the posting by Leifs about the discontinuation of Adobe Flash in 2020 in this Forum and have been doing some preliminary tests as to which alternative approach to use to retain full multi-resolution on NON 360x180 panoramas (of which I have hundreds to address) The current situation is that t...

Re: Adobe will finally kill Flash in 2020

It is a shame Flash has become persona non grata with so many of the browsers I'm still hanging in there with Firefox but the days are now numbered from what I have read in here The big snag for me (and this is not a Kolor problem really) is that I don't generally make equirectangular (360x180) pano...

Re: Ghost Images - Grass

I downloaded your 21 images and did the pano using my method (merged using Photomatix 1st then created the panoramas using the 7 merged in=mages using APG) I got no ghosting at all and I am 99% sure that the problem is that you didn't actually have de-ghosting switched on I tried it at 0% and got so...

Re: Ghost Images - Grass

You would be better served uploading jpg versions of the 21 images to a dropbox link so others can experiment on your behalf

Re: Ghost Images - Grass

I know you can do this either way round but I would create 7 separate HDR images first (I use Photomatix) and then use Autopano Giga to stitch the 7 HDR images to generate 1 HDR panorama

I would be interested to see if the results you got were better using this method !

Re: Why the zoom level doesn't work? [SOLVED]

If the pano is not full equirectangular (360 x 180) and if you are using a recent version of PTP, then the display uses html5 graphics by default (and not Adobe Flashplayer) and gives a lower resolution

There are workarounds if this is the case and discussions on this forum

Re: Spherical Panos

Your pano does work fine for me both in "desktop" and "VR" mode, using PTP 2.5.7 on Linux. Just guessing here, but the image metadata contains some crop-info, maybe that gets taken into account somehow: $ exiftool 2-Entry.jpg|grep -i pixel Cropped Area Image Width Pixels : 7088 ...

Re: facebook 360 panarama

Thank you all for your valuable help. I am reporting this as a bug in autopano: http://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=36665 I thought I read earlier that you had actually sent all the images involved in rendering this panorama over to Kolor for replication purposes. Kolor ran the imag...

Re: facebook 360 panarama

There's definitely a bug in AutoPano 4.4.1 (both Windows and Linux) because I'm not getting the correct metadata added to the panorama. I've just tried again starting from scratch and checked the result with exiftool - nothing (the lines I quoted above are missing). Please could you report this as ...

Re: facebook 360 panarama

That's interesting - I used exiftool to compare the metadata for your panorama and mine, and they are almost identical except that your images have these extra lines: Stitching Software : Autopano Giga 4.4.1 Use Panorama Viewer : True Projection Type : equirectangular Cropped Area Image Height Pixe...

Re: facebook 360 panarama

You didn't mention any resizing in the above tests As well as the need for a 2:1 aspect ratio I believe the width has to be 8000 pixels or less Any projection should be OK but you still need to add the dummy exif data for make and model These uploads from mobiles you mentioned might have been taken ...

Re: facebook 360 panarama

Facebook seems to check the dimensions for being exactly 2:1 before it will display in panorama mode but if you have done a lot of post processing after rendering the original and don't want to re-render then it is quite easy to create an empty file (using paint.net or similar) with the width of he ...

Re: Vertical JPEG displayed as horizontal in APG detection

Yes the red tint is a real nuisance though. Did you replicate this too? Kolor don't recommend importing RAW files straight into APG and I use either Lightroom and/or Photomatix (for bracketed) to convert then first. I tested putting cr2 files into APG directly for this post and they were tinted but...

Re: Vertical JPEG displayed as horizontal in APG detection

I have Canon's Digital Photo Professional and can replicate this issue on cr2 to jpg conversion I noticed the exif data has changed a little on the output of the jpg from the cr2 file after using DPP and I think this is affecting the orientation of the thumbnails. There were several differences in t...

Re: Multiple points of view

It is in the optimisation settings (edit|settings) for APG and not implemented in APP and called "Viewpoint". It is accessible when "optimisation scope" is ficked across to "manual" TBH I haven't found it to make all that much difference and I do my panos hand-held as a...

Re: Use of Adobe Flash Player as default in PTP2.5.8 [SOLVED]

Thanks Annis I will make that change until the bug is fixed Destiny: I had heard 2020 but I know it's on the way out - the security issues have killed it off I think But for those of us who still like cylindrical/spherical panoramas (not 360x180) this loss of resolution with html5 display is a real ...

Thanks Annis

I thought that was what was needed but I tried editing a couple of html files and saving and got an error as shown when I just ran the html file off my local hard drive (Firefox)

Use of Adobe Flash Player as default in PTP2.5.8 [SOLVED]

I have just updated PTP from 2.5.5 to 2.5.8 and have found the section dealing with the specification of Adobe Flash rather than html5 display has changed Nearly all of my panoramas are less than 360 x 180 so html5 does not give full resolution and needs to be amended from html="prefer" to...

Re: tour not working offline on browsers safari firefox [SOLVED]

I had that error a few months ago In my case (and most likely yours too) it was caused by increased security introduced by Adobe into an upgrade to Flash Player If you are happy to override it at your own risk you can bypass it by (on Windows) going into Control Panel > Flash Player > Advanced and s...

Re: Perfect one day and useless the next :(

I guess you could upload the images on here via dropbox or similar then others can see if they have the same problem. I don't use APG Fusion any more due to its extreme limitations on hand-held image alignment (which Photomatix addresses OK)

Re: Problem with HDR and AEB
