funny i just found that. still don't quite know what to do with it. do i need an interpreter for pyqt4? or is pyqt4 a module in python. obviously im in over my head here but thats ok

Hi Frederick,

this is good news then i could have an option to use my laptop when i want to use dslr remote for pole shots and my pocket pc that i already have for tripod shots when its easy to touch the camera. do you know where i get he interpreter?

yep thats the one. my question is do i need to wire the power and ground since the cable will already have power from the usb port and the mount has power as well.

don't know if you've seen this but perhaps pappy wizard could work with it for exposure and focus braceting. you can also write the images to the laptop so perhaps app could be stitching while shooting is still going.

thanks Claude! in fact i have a usb to serial converter in the drawer collecting dust. I called the mfg of the usb server and the stock range for that is about 100' good for the pole but i guess ill need some signal amplifiers and better antennas to make the jump to the blimp for high shots. most of...

i have a rig like that for the blimp the point was more that if i am going to buy a wireliess interface that will allow me to run the remote control software from canon i might as well have a link that would do the distance for the blimp as well even though i don't need it for the pole

don't really need it to be wireless on the 50' pole but i may also want to put it on a blimp and that could be up to 500' . don't know if bluetooth can go that far
