Re: Nikkor 600mm + panoGear = Similarity or Homography ?

With a 600mm lens, the nodal point doesn't matter.
If you use the default values the stitching is perfect.

Re: Weird FOV/Focal/Roll after optimization, limit possible?

It is amazing how well it works with these 3D views and stiching with APG ! I had to search very long to find a unique stiching error in this panorama. In Skyrim the 3D- and texture engine seems to be very stable. I know older games where the texture was re-placed with any small wobbles. With this e...

Re: Weird FOV/Focal/Roll after optimization, limit possible?

41 Images with 1920x1200 for a pano with only 4350x1876 is much to much overlapping. A good value for overlaping between Images is 20-25%. So for this low Resolution, 4x2=8 Images should be enough. With 41 Images you hit the limit for overlapping ;) On the other hand all PC-games have an very comple...

Re: Weird FOV/Focal/Roll after optimization, limit possible?

You're assuming that the graphics engine of the game works exactly like a real lens. But this is not so, as many optimizations will be done to improve the graphics output and speed. APG is programmed to operate with real scenes.

Re: Autopano giga and full frame lense

You can edit the file cameras.txt and add there the 610 like the 600.

See C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Kolor\Autopano Giga 3.0\User\Data\cameras.txt

Re: [OSX 10.8.5, APG 3.0.8] Bannding on rendered images

Hi Niall First check your input images for vignetting. If you shoot a 28mm with an almost open aperture, you get strong vignetting in the corners. And APG isn't able to compensate this issues at the moment. You can check this in Photoshop, simple place two of the input images one next to the other a...

BAM !
Yes, this preview looks really good, big improvement in the detection module.
Hope, they haven't forgotten completely the color correction for big gigas with changing lights ;)

Re: This time I need your help stitching a panorama

Hi If so, then there is a other problem: The Samyang have an other kind of projektion, more like an ultra wide angle than a fisheye. As I look at the images first, I think these aren't fisheye images because of an untypically distortion. Could be that is also a reason for the stitching problems. But...

Re: This time I need your help stitching a panorama

Hi Hans This case has interested me, so I've look at it. It's a really good example how not to shoot a pano! Especially with such a sensitive subject as this hall with that many lines. But first, I'm confused about the lens used: 8mm (DX) or 12mm (FX)? AFAIK there is no D-Nikkor fisheye with 8 or 12...

Re: Please Help - Hardware Bottleneck

Hi If your CPU runs with 90-100% load, then this is one of the bottlenecks. But it's also good, because not every system uses it's fully performance. What you can check is if there is a process other than APG, that use the CPU extensive while rendering. Eg. a virus scanner can influence the system p...

Re: help, still stitching errors app3

Hi Kenny
How big is your pano, how many images ?
E.g. you can upload a screenshot so we have a clue about it.

Re: Question regarding dpi

Hi
Sometimes APG have some problems storing default settings.
Can be related to user privileges in Windows. Try out other settings, if they are stored well.
If not, try to install APG clean with admin privilege.
You can also set the DPI in the final render dialogue. This should then work.

Re: help, still stitching errors app3

It looks like the kolor-guys have chosen a method to set the CPs something in the middle of the images. Perhaps there should be a setting to choose if the user want more CPs in the corners. If I have to do this in an automated process I would search CPs throughout the region of overlap, then do a pr...

Re: help, still stitching errors app3

My contention is that when the product is named Auto pano and makes great play of the auto aspect then one should not have to 'play' with it. Hi mediavets Yes, you can understand the "Auto" in Autopano like this way. On the other side, then you shouldn't play also with a DX lens on an FX ...

Re: help, still stitching errors app3

Here is a rendered image at 50%. You have to look very closely to see some small stitching errors. Perhaps there is still a small parallax error in the setup from diax ? I find it interesting that the calculated angle (FOV) of this combination is more than 200º ! That's almost as much as the legenda...

Re: help, still stitching errors app3

Ok, here we go: - First thing I can see is, that on my machine, APG (3.0.8 x64) recognize the camera modell wrong. It use a Nikon 800 with crop factor 5.11 ?? - But even with this wrong settings, APG make a not so bad stitch. But it's something lazy and don't recognize some control points in the cei...

Re: help, still stitching errors app3

Destiny means the focal distance that change the nodal point of this kind of lens, not the focal lenght ;) In addition, this Nikon lenses have no internal focus element, so that the entire front group moves during focusing. One way to circumvent this is to use a very small aperture (f/11 or f/16) an...

Re: Nightphotoproblem

Hi
This is normal if you boost the contrast in a 8bit JPG to much.
With 8bit you have only 256 steps from darkest to lightest blue.
To avoid this use 16bit RAW/Tiff instead.
