20% overlap has been working for you? Hi Yes, absolutely. 15 - 20%, if you are shooting with a tele lens and the overlapping is regularly. If not, eg. when shooting manually without a motorized head, it can result in some blending problems. If you are shooting with a wide angle or have a motiv with...

Hi Thank you for uploading the screen shot. I'm not absolutely sure but have some ideas: 1) The path and filename looks a little bit long. Some times we have a limit of 256 characters for the path. So can you try to save the render on a location with shorter path and name ? Eg. on C:\temp\render.tif...

Hi
There is also a "automated color correction" in the "main settings - detection".
Have you unchecked this before importing the images ?

The difference looks like some gamma correction for me.

8 GB Ram 4 GB Free ( How do I free up more of the Ram? ) Hi APG makes his own reservations for the various tasks (calculatuon, preview, rendering) So you can only push the slider to the right (or install more memory) ;) 8GB RAM should be no problem for your case. I have rendered up to 1500 images i...

Also like you I have found that the Control Points are not so "green" when inputting Photomatix images compared to the originals - which I assume is caused by a slight errors on the alignment during the fusing Hi In fact, that's what I found also. But only with hand held shots when then Photomatix ...

When you have then again problems, try to correct vignetting ...

Hi
APG at the moment uses the GPU only for preview render in the editor window, not for the output render.
I would use in this case the ATI. It supports OpenGL 3.2 and have more memory.
But it should work with both cards.

Hi As we can read in wiki http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Dynamic_Range_Image#Speicherung or in several special books about HDRI, there are different HDR formats and coding methods. So it's really interessting how APG handles HDR. I created a HDR from 3 exposures (-1, 0 +1EV) and rendered it in AP...

Try to uninstall the security updates (system recovery).
If then APG runs ok again, install one after the other update to see which one is the bad one.

Hi Klaus Which Quadro do you have, the FX4500 ? Afaik there could be two authoritative problems: 1) Quadros for PC are different to them for Mac. Because of the different boot routine, GPU for MAC need more Flash ROM on the GPU. 2) Im not shure but 1.1 use only PCI-E x16. Most of the Quadros need PC...

Hi Klaus Your ATI runs OpenGL 2.1 with shader modell 1.2 Since early 2010 we have OpenGL 4.0, actual 4.3. OpenCL is integrated now. It's clear that a developer have to use the new possibility to bring it's software forward. Something like live preview of a giga panorama isn't possible without this n...

Hi Klaus
This GPU is from January 2006. Have you a up to date and compatible GPU-driver for your current OS-version ?
Kolor is using actual graphic features for the preview (eg. open GL), which don't exist (in this version) in the 2006.

Hi Thomas Oh, I don't use this "Quick preview" a lot because most of time I know what I want ;) And for giga-panos with several hundred images, "Quick" isn't really quick and usefull. So if it's not a big thing it would be nice if the normal setting dialog box would be complete again. No problem if ...

[APG 3.0.5 Win7 x64] optimization and settings problems

While testing APG 3.0.5 in several circumstances I found a "new" problem/bug in the optimization process. Input files are externally corrected TIF-files with correct sensor and lens EXIF-data. External correction is needed because of the complex distortion and vignetting of the used zoom lens. If al...

[APG 3.0.5 Win7 x64] optimization settings are not accepted

If I set the optimization settings in the CP-editor window to "GIGA" and then change the lens focal length to "identical" and then accept,
next the correction check box is unchecked. I have to check it seperately once again.

klausesser wrote:(Nikon doesn´t have another, rect. 16mm)

But afaik there is a 14-24mm, 16-35mm wide angle lens (both are rect. lenses).
So if we don't know the lens type, it's not shure about the setting.

Hi If you deactivate it in the upper part of the setting box, it's automatically deaktivate in the lower part. But at the end, all "lens distortion correction" checkboxes should be deactivated. Hi
It's possible. You can eg. use the "360" option in the gigapan import tool.
Or you can "close" it manually with more controll points.
Use the cylindric projection in this case.
You can find a lot of posts in this forum with more information, if it's hurry ;)

Hi If you correct lens distortion first outside APG then you should deaktivate the "Lens distortion correction" in APG. Otherwise, APG try to do this again with the EXIF-informations, resulting in a worse RMS. APG isn't able to correct vignetting at the moment. This should be done first with other s...
