Hi
This was also a discussion in the past, see in the forum search "memory allocation"
Eg: http://www.kolor.com/forum/t12901-memory-allocation-in-2.6.1
There are several reason why APG don't use as much memory as there is.

Hi
Did you shoot in JPG or RAW?
Which color system, bit depth etc. ?
What color settings in PS ?
Do you use some automated corrections in PS ?

Hi
Functionality and performance is very well.
What you can improve is the quality of the images, this blending error in the zenit
and the shaking when you walking around with the cameras.

Hi Mario I try it out. There are two issues: 1. There is a lot of vignetting between the images. APG isn't able to correct strong vignetting at the moment (see example). Specially in blue sky it is allways visible. So try out to correct vignetting first in a photo application. 2. You shoot with a lo...

Hi The best way is to shoot totally manually. Manual aperture and manual exposure time. So you have identical exposure for every image. It's clear, with 360-pano or when there is cloudy sky and sun, you have big brightness differences. Manual WB setting is important to. It's really difficult to corr...

Hi
If I see it correct, you have exposure times from 1/160 to 1/3200 ?
This can make trouble ;)
Cloudy sky is allways a challenge. Different light every few seconds.

Hi
You are using the Gamma correction (2.79?) and the color correction system in HDR mode.
Try out "None" or "LDR" for color correction and apply the gamma correction with the green check hook well.

Hi 1. question: You can use the masking tool to tell APG not to use some area in other images: http://www.autopano.net/wiki-en/action/view/Autopano_Giga_-_Panorama_Editor_-_Masking_tool Or you can use alpha layers (edit images, delete unwanted area and save them as TIF). 2. question: Overlapping 2/3...

Hi Georg

If you want to give it a try with a clean install you can uninstall 3.0.5,
then delete all 3.0-related folders and the regkey

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kolor\Autopano Giga 3.0
Because they changed something on cache division, it may help ...

Hi Georg
For me it seems to be a Bug with APG 3.0.5 and Win8 combination,
if you can't render it on the same machine, even with 10% input files.
Have you done a really clean install of 3.0.5 ?

What is if you zoom in 100% ?
Are there also such preview errors that differ from the final render ?

i haven't found any convenient way to play with gamma correction... Hi Yes, it's clear. Once a part of the highlights are totally clipped you can't get them back. Sometimes with a bright pano, the gamma correction can help. But as Klaus wrote, it's better to protect the highlights in the input file...

Hi It's not only the RAM that is limited the ability to work on "big" panoramas. I can create 20 GPixel panoramas (from 2000 images at 12 MPixel) on a Workstation with only 8 GB RAM within 2,5 hours. If you aren't doing this several times every day, I think it's fast enough. It's also the rest of th...

How to set the reference level in brackets ?

Hi
I wonder how I can choose the reference level in a bracket ?
In my case, APG will always use the darkest level, which does not make much sense.

Hi Georg Is this 10 gigabyte or 10 gigapixel ? Good to know anyway ;). My experience with panos created and stitched together from HDR-images those were preprocessed in Photomatix is not very pleasing. Even when using "templates" that means everytime the same settings for every batch processed image...

You can do it folder/hundreds by folder/hundreds using the same preset. Hi Klaus How do you mean that exactly? I guess the problem with the methode in the tutorial is that there is no HDR-software that can handle gigapixel input files to do the tone mapping. As the editor says: "None is truly worki...

I think exactly the same when reading this tutorial. But in the described methode I see a problem. When dealing with small panos (eg. some hundreds of megapixel) and with bracketings from 3 steps it will work. But if you are working on a gigapixel panorama with bracketings with 5 up to 9 steps, I gu...

Hi mosleyhgp Yes, I remember now that I have set fisheye and 16mm as default because of this problem. APG read the AF 16mm always as "standard lens" even when in the lensid.txt there is the correct code 1 (fisheye): 16 16 52 2.8 2.8;Nikon;Nikon AF Fisheye Nikkor 16mm f/2.8D;1 The lens id for this le...
